I think it would be a unique twist to the story if Liu Kang would become evil. Liu Kang's soul would get corrupted by the Dragon King and he would be the strongest fighter on the evil side besides the Dragon King himself.
Kung Lao could learn of Liu Kang's return and he would find out that Liu Kang is evil. Kung Lao had said his farewell to Liu Kang and he knows that the one in the realm of the living cannot be the true Mortal Kombat Champion.
Liu Kang could kill major characters on the side of good and Kung Lao would confront Liu Kang in an ultimate show down.

This is a good idea and Kung Lao would come out on top.
I'd like Kang to be evil and kill someone like Jax and then he could destroy the Shoalin Temples. This would set Kung Lao after him and they'd eventually end up fighting.
I would want Kung Lao to win and somehow try and save Kangs corrupted soul, but to no avail. Kang could then escape and possess another nody ready to have another go at Kung Lao later on.
I like this idea, and I think it could work. Kung Lao - according to the MK2 comic: MK2 comic Kang & Lao- didn't like Liu Kang much after he left the Shaolin Temples and competed in Mortal Kombat. I guess they became friends again, but Lao was always in Kang's shadow so the resentment towards Liu has always been there. I think this would work, and could definately happen if Kung Lao returns in MKD (as I believe he will) as the Grand Champion of MKDA...
