I know that a majority of MK fans don't like Liu, but he has beaten the likes of Shang and Kahn many times. I think he should return in MK: Deception. I mean if Johnny Cage can come back to life why can't Liu? If scorpion can get killed and come back to life easilly, and still can't manage to beat Quan Chi, Liu should be able to come back and lay the smackdown on Shang! furious

he cant come back because cage already came back. people have to die or else the story will never progress..and scorpion only died once..he just returns to hell..cause he doesn't live on earth

you must be some kind of a sadist to suggest death as the only means of progression in story. id say about 70% of stories, movies, etc dont have death involved and the ones that do, dont use it as a segue to further the story, the good ones anyway.

as for liu coming back, id say dont hold your breath. it seems the staff at midway usually listen to fans, and if the support or lack thereof on this board is any indication, he'll be staying dead

liu has always been one of the top characters in the game..the way he went out was stupid. i bet he'll brought back by the eldergods to rightfully defend his mk title
Liu Kang should stay gone. I liked him in Mortal Kombats 1 and 2...but from then on, the only thing he was good for was someone to test fatalities on. It was fun while it lasted, but I've moved on.

Yeah, I wish they'd bring back Liu Kang too. It's just not the same without him. Everyone dies but they all come back, sooner or later.
They could bring him back as a hidden fighter who doesn't affect the storyline (like Smoke, Jade and Noob in MK2, although they did affect the storyline later).
Or they could create a replica of Liu, like how they've done so in the past (Jarek for Kano, human Smoke for Scorpion, Shinnok for Shang Tsung, Kintaro for Goro, Kenshi for Ermac, and dare I say it, Frost for Sub-Zero).
If all else fails, maybe we could create him in the all new Konquest mode?

Liu didn't suck. he was one of the most fun and powerful characters to play with. the only problem with him was he was the winner everytime and his story got boring. His death was good for Mk in the long run anyway. It says that no matter who you are or what part you play, no character is invincible.

No.

1o Before Mk, killed by Sub-Zero.

2o MKDA killed by Quan Chi when he was thrown in the acid pool. Konquest.

3o Many dont count this but still, he died like 2-3 times in the comics.

?o He went back to hell after Mk2 and after Mk3. Why? He was probably killed, but I dont think so.

Yeah, that's the best thing I liked about his death, it show that it's still a MORTAL kombat. Because they've exaggerated a bit in the past with people who keep coming back and all. From now on, they should let dead people remain dead.

First off... anyone who has read a post of mine before knows I hate Liu Kang.. Anyways... I would just like to point out something about people dying and coming back to life... Johnny Cage died and his spirit went to mortal kombat heaven.... Liu Kang died and Shang Tsung sucked his soul... That being the case.. Im hoping that the gods cannot bring Liu kang back.. I mean seriously.. if the gods feel like bringing someone back.. why dont they just bring back the original Kung Lao.. that would be pretty cool

As I have said in a previous thread a while back now, It doesnt matter to me if liu kang will/wont't be in the game. However for the members of this forum that don't like Liu Kang, what real reasons do you have for disliking Kang, besides him having annoyingly high pitched war cries,or him being the champion too long ? Obviously it took a skilled warrior to defend the earth. Otherwise someone else would have been the chosen defender of earth realm. On the other side of the Koin, to those who want Kang to return: What would be the point of him dying in DA only to resurface in MKD unharmed? I feel that if they bring him back , they better have a good explation as to what really happened, and not the old stale "thought to have been killed" scenario. Just my two cents. So far I guess I am one of the few to see this from both sides of the argument. Hopefully this wont start a flame war....

I understand what you mean. Heres why I didn't like Liu Kang... First off he was the same in every game.. Same outfit..exact same moves.. and exact same fatalities... all of which were lame.. except for the dragon fatality... His story was always the same too.. he defeated Shang Stung.. he Defeated Shao Kahn twice.. He defeated Shinnok.. Every Story needs a leading character, i understand that.. but Liu Kang just got really old.. really fast... The Game needed a change.. im not saying that they needed to Kill Him off, but they definately had to do something.. Im happy with the choice they made to get rid of him, because it allows the game to branch off with the direction the story goes. Now its not predictable.. you cant just assume Liu Kang is going to win.. Anyways.. thats my 2 cents...

.....Plus I really hated his Freaking Yelling and Crying ; )

liu kang is one of the all time MK legends!!! he has been fighting since the first MK release. Lui Kang is one of the best fighters next to scorpion and Sug-Zero. I just can't believe most of you MK fans don't like Liu Kang, or would rather him leave. I don't know, I love Liu Kang and I wished he was in D.A. or he will some how be back in MK:D.

kung lao has taken lui kangs place as the lead charachter. besides kung lao is better (hes my favorite), but lung lao is more orignal than lui is some bruce lee guy and kung lao is orignal and kool. but back on the topic. midways done with lui and kung lao is the new good guy.

many would argue that kung lao has no purpose because he got his revenge on shang tsung but radiaen will need his help to continue to fight evil.

lui kang should die, it's original if a main hero get killed... it makes the mk series look unpredicitable on who's gonna win the next

I think the reason why Ed Boon killed off Liu Kang is because he wanted to prove the point that there is no "main character" in mortal kombat. A highlighted character? Yes. A main character? No.

i for one LOVE liu kang.he was my most favorite character next to raiden.every since i started coming to this board i constantly read posts bashing liu every time his name came up and the only reasons they used as a defense for hating him was that he's either too much like bruce lee,he always make "turkey noises",or he was boring and hogged the spotlight.now i'm hearing that characters shouldn't be brought back once they're destroyed.so,with that mentality, scorpion should have been thrown away a long time ago.on every mk game scorpion is trying to get his revenge on someone just to be sent back to hell but i only have one thing to say,LET HIM ROT IN HELL FOR ETERNITY!!!!!!with that said, let liu kang back in the game.

I mean lets be serious if Liu Kang returned he'd be the most dominate person on the game. If they want to expand the game and storyline then fine. But if he ever comes back he will hands down be the best. Could you have of imagined Liu Kang in Mk:DA....High and low fireball, flying kick and bicycle kick...it would of been over. His fighting styles would of defintely been the best.
