I had originally figured it would be the regular MK team who made Shaolin Monks, but this move sounds pretty intruiging.

They made Thrill Kill! That's instant 'game-street cred' right there. Maybe with their presence, the idea of a 4p MK game could be revisited down the track (remember that concept art in MKD's Krypt, it was the first major idea they had considered).

And, while it seemed previously that we would get a fighting sequel one year, spin-off the next, they've suggested that spin-offs will be annual and the main games would presumably still come out in their usual flow.

Sounds awesome to me.
