-MKD's character roster leaves me with mixed emotions. On one side I am suprised at the return of the more obscure characters of the series (Tanya, Jade, Kabal, Ermac ect.) and clever storyline tactics to kill off main characters.
-But on the other side I'm a little dissapointed with a few of the new characters in MKD. Mainly Kobra, Kira, Darrius,Dairou . .the "replacements".
-When done skillfully, the "replacement" can make it as if no void was left unfilled in a storyline. When done un-skillfully, they can be dissapointing and bring down the quality of a game. I feel as if the named characters only make me wonder why they characters they are replacing . .got replaced.
-All I'm saying, is that MKD killed off some potential. They had the makings of a good solid followup chapter to MKDA. Why on earth was Drahmin killed off? He's one of the sacred Oni. Mu goodnedd Midway ..whats going on.
-We have Kobra. . the most uncreative, uninteresting, boring looking characters concept with a few johnny cage moves and a command list that rivals Juko. (fireballs? Teleporting? He has on a GI for christs sake)
-Kira the Kano/Sonya hybrid who looks like a character model from Bloodrayne, or some equally bad 3rd person shooter featuring a female lead character. Sonya could have just as easily been a playable character. Hell . .why not even bring back Jared?
-Darrius .. by far one of the worst. Can we for once have an african american male character in a fighter that dosent double as Wesley Snipes?
-Dairou. .now I feel like a fool for making fun of Hsu Hao
-MKD would have been a much better fighter (IMO) if they relatively same formula would have remained. Took out those characters, and kept Jared, Sonya, Jax, Drahmin and Hsu Hao.
