"Is it so important that you win one last argument with him?" "No, it is not, but it is true that I will miss the arguments; they were, finally, all that we had."

I've put this here, since it mainly deals with an odd curiosity in the announcer's voice from MK: Deadly Alliance on. In the past, the announcer has invariably been the final boss of whichever game is being played (Shang Tsung was the commentator for MK1, Shao Kahn for MK2 and 3/UMK3/Trilogy, and Shinnok in MK4), but ever since Deadly Alliance, the commentator has stayed the same. Even more curious, is that it sounds an awful lot like Quan Chi's in-game voice' listen to Quan Chi talk in Armageddon's Konquest mode, then listen to the announcer. Hell, even going as far back as MK4 (and maybe even Mythologies), you can tell that ol' pasty white dome sounds very similar to the MK:DA-on announcer.

So, what do you guys think? Has Quan Chi taken up a side-hobby of MK ringside commentary? Or is the similarity just a coincidence and/or laziness on Midway's part?

MK4 was Quan Chi, as was MKDA. MKD/MKA is Onaga.

There you go.

Well part of MK1 was that Tsung was basically running the tournament. And Shao Kahn I believe was "running" things in MK2. Correct me if I'm wrong. These days the games are more story based and not a tournament. So nobody is really "running things." I may be wrong.

You're not wrong, but there was a fake tournament run by the Deadly Alliance held in MKDA. So that's probably why Quan is the announcer.

And Onaga is simply the big boss of MKD, so he was made the announcer. But then in MKA, I'm just sure that they were too lazy to record all new announcer soundcalls for Blaze or something, so they just made new ones with the same voice.

Watch some of the MKG endings on this site - any of the endings with Quan Chi make it obvious he is the announcer.
