Let me explain

First we had MK1 (A New Hope). A great beginning to an epic saga. Everyone loved but the fans wanted more!

Next comes MK2 (Empire Strikes Back). And all you can say is WOW!!! It crushes the first one in terms of greatness. Some many new characters, extras and the story line. Just hard to put into words how great it was.

As usually, the fans demand even more so then we get MK3 (Return of the Jedi). A definite good addition to the series doesn't quite have the same impact as MK2. But to some is better than the original.

Time passes, old fans grow up, new ones are born. Time to add to the saga, which is Mortal Kombat. So now we have MK4 (The phantom menace). All new graphics, spectacular animation, ok story. Just not enough, the die-hard fans and casual players find it lacking in terms of the originals especially all mighty MK2.

Now we get to the present and MKDA (Attack of the Clones) is released. All new way of fighting, great new characters never seen before, and even better graphics than the previous installment. Some say this is the best others disagree still cling to the originals.

In the future, what is in story for us MK6 (Star Wars Episode III)?

you are correct sir! in fact john tobias actually mentioned that a long time ago in a... anyway. and as a hardcore star wars fan, i was hardly suprised when i learned of this. the parallels are there, and the attarction to mk seemed natural.

Yeah, you can draw a lot of parallels. I personally think MK6 as well Episode 3 will be the greatest yet in each series.

I remember that interview with John Tobias. He likened Shang Tsung to Darth Vader because you think he's the big bad guy and then in the next one you find out there's an even badder guy (The Emperor/Shao Kahn).
