Here is my personal opinion on each character;
-their physical appearance
-their special moves
-their inclusion in the game
SCORPION
----------------
DESIGN ¬ Imo, Scorpion never looked that great. I like the skeletal mask.
SPECIAL ¬ I love his fire moves, they look cool. He seems fun to play as.
ICONIC ¬ Well everyone knows he was going to be in the game anyway.
SUB ZERO
---------------
DESIGN ¬ They kept his best features: the mask and the frozen arms.
SPECIAL ¬ His move when he appears from behind with a blade is sick.
ICONIC ¬ Same thing as Scorpion. There is no way he was gonna be out.
LIU KANG
--------------
DESIGN ¬ He looks like Robin Shou and he's BIG! Best Liu Kang ever.
SPECIAL ¬ I can't wait to see his dragon fatality. His fireballs look great.
ICONIC ¬ It would have been nice to have his zombie version in the game.
LORD RAIDEN

DESIGN ¬ White Raiden is back! I like the fact that his face looks older.
SPECIAL ¬ I can't wait to see which special moves they brought back!
ICONIC ¬ Raiden, Goro, Subz and Scorp are the most iconic characters.
SONYA BLADE

DESIGN ¬ Omg, Sonya looks great! I like the changes they gave her.
SPECIAL ¬ She has so many special moves! Her bicycle kick is back yay!
ICONIC ¬ Kitana and her are obviously the most iconic MK girls.
SHANG TSUNG

DESIGN ¬ They kept just the neat stuff about him and added some! Wow!
SPECIAL ¬ Too bad he cannot morph. His switching-teleport move is cool.

SPECIAL ¬ Knives throwing, eye laser and heart ripping... boooring.
ICONIC ¬ They put him in because of Sonya but he's not that iconic imo.
SHAO KAHN

SPECIAL ¬ He needs all his past moves ESPECIALLY the taunt!
ICONIC ¬ Hellz yeah! I'm glad they picked him over Onaga and Goro.

DESIGN ¬ He always looked the same. I was never into Superman, at all.
SPECIAL ¬ He has plenty of different moves but he just sucks to me.
ICONIC ¬ Batman, Wonder Woman and him are the three DC icons.
BATMAN

DESIGN ¬ I would have liked a black Batman, but he still looks great!
SPECIAL ¬ Even though I'm not a huge fan, he has amazing moves so far!
ICONIC ¬ Same as Superman. Robin didn't make the cut haha!
WONDER WOMAN

SPECIAL ¬ She is just like Superman, only ten times more interesting.
ICONIC ¬ Catwoman has a bigger fanbase, but she was obviously in.
THE FLASH

DESIGN ¬ That's the best outfit for the Flash in my opinion.
SPECIAL ¬ His moves look sick! I like how overpowered his speed is!
ICONIC ¬ I don't know many DC characters, but everyone knows the Flash!
GREEN LANTERN

SPECIAL ¬ I guess his ring gives him endless possibilities for that game.
ICONIC ¬ I heard that name before but I didn't know anything about him.
CATWOMAN

SPECIAL ¬ Capoeira FTW! I like how her backflip is a dodging move.
ICONIC ¬ She's the most popular DC chick, and I like everything about her.
SHAZAM

DESIGN ¬ In my opinion he looks just like Superman, only less stupid.
SPECIAL ¬ I read about his powers. He seems interesting but deja vu tho.
ICONIC ¬ I never heard about him before, but I'm not a huge DC fan.

SPECIAL ¬ It's fun to see someone with no actual powers in this game.

Being black doesnt make him iconic. Having metal arms does.
It is like; being chinese doesnt make Liu Kang iconic, transforming into a dragon and being the first champion does.
Sonya is mostly iconic for her leg grab move, but also in part for being the very first female.

His new look is very cool. I think they did a great job with that. I only hope that he feels fun to play, more unique and less repetitive like in the past.

Looks cool, but not that new. I'm glad he has some new cool special moves because, like Scorpion, he seems to feel the same in every game.

She has never looked and been better! Everyone applauded all the game promotion she was given and thanked the mk team for finally hearing the fans. Leg Grab, Energy rings, Bicycle kick, Kiss, etc...she has them all and even new specials!

He looks awesome. I also hope he feels new when playing his character. I hope he gets new specials.

Wow Darkseid seems cool. It's just that Marvel is so much more popular. I mean; everyne knows Spiderman, the X-Men, Hulk, Daredevil, Elektra... but the only REALLY popular guys from DC are Batman, Superman, Catwoman and Wonder Woman... Anyway, I'm not biased in any way as myt fav character of all time is a DC character, but you gotta admit Marvel > DC in terms of popularity.

I most definitely am!
I'm more then glad she was given such a huge attention not only for her character (as in beautiful look, all her special moves, new moves, etc.), but also for all the use they gave her to promote the game in the main video game events, Kollectors Edition Cover, the main site, Mkasts, interviews, videos, trailers, etc.
The bitch made a glorious comeback and she flew high as the leading babe.
Now, regarding your comment about Catwoman and Mileena:

Seriously, I'm sure that if Mileena would had been included she would had gotten loads of love and probably some promotion.
But yeah, Catwoman, imo, looks FANTASTIC and incredibly fun and well made. Can't wait to try her!
