The Good:

1) Graphics- On an HD television this game is beautiful to behold.
2) Character Selection- Despite having a limited roster, the MK team did about as good a job of selecting characters from each side. Neither side feels underrepresented and both sides feel equally weighted.
3) Violence Levels- The blood, damage, and even most of the fatalities are truly MK level in this game.
4) Story Mode- I really enjoyed how the story unfolded and each side truly felt like it represented those characters. The DCU side in particularly totally felt like an episode of "Justice League".
5) Bios- Thank god they decided to once again include this staple of MK games. Many of the MK ones in particular were rather informative and suggested new directions that future MK games will take.
6) Endings- The paintings are beautiful and have nice twists, usually from the opposing universe. What's even better is that, unlike MK:A, they are savable!
7) The Game Worked- Despite early pessimism about the crossover, Midway managed to pull off this game in a believable fashion for fans of both franchises.

The Bad:

1) Loading Times are WAY too long. It seems like they can't change a single screen in this game without a loading screen. This is next-gen, I expect better.
2) No "Fatality" Stance- This makes pulling off some of those obnoxious button combos extra difficult with your character bouncing around.

The Ugly:

1) Censored Fatalities- It's very clear that shooting people in the chest, with blood mind you, is completely acceptable; so why couldn't The Joker and Deathstroke do that instead of off-screen? There's nothing lamer than an off-screen fatality, especially when it was so easily corrected. They went out of their way to hype of The Joker's fatality as "proof" that the game was still very violent, and then POOF: It's gone!
2) Shao Kahn and Darkseid do not have fatalities. Why on earth do the most evil villains in each universe NOT KILL? This just strikes me as lazy.
3) Many games had bugs/glitches. This includes the original copy that I had that didn't save the endings! (Thankfully my new copy does!)

Well I don't have the censored fatalities so that's not an issue to me grin
As for the loading times they don't strike me as that bad and they don't appear that much.

The load times really aren't that bad for me. What console are you playing on?

360. Every screen change has a load screen. Very slow.

Good: Mortal Kombat

Bad: Vs.

Ugly: DC

Very ugly: Superman's chin, why didn't they just put the fucking Crimson Chin in the game.

I believe with the new Xbox Experience you can download the game to your harddrive and it's supposed to cut down on load times significantly.

I hate that most of the fatalities have blood or guts like the last games. All there is in this one is either a corpse, a skeleton or a few drops.

The load screens are often but extremely short. Doesn't really improve if you download it to the hard drive, by the way. Cuts down on drive noise though.
