If they can get the online thing to work, that will be the easiest way.you wont even have to leave your house to compete against strangers.

arcades are dead here in the US, so that wouldn't be a good idea for MK6. If MK6 were brought to arcade 1st it would cause Midway to lose more money. As some people may remember wavenet in the late 90s. It was a good idea( I've never tryied it, but I would have if I were in a place were it was located). Wavenet could have been uses for MK6 online but arcades are dead. Also it was like in 2000 that Midway annouced that they would not make anymore arcade games so i think that holds true to MK6's place.

Online gaming is popular with PS2 and Xbox so I would think it would work with those two systems. Sadly things aren't looking to good for gamecube owers like myself. Most 3rd party game makers are leaving gamecube out when it comes to online gaming. I like that cel shaded FPS game from ubi soft and more. I also so that Midway not putting MK6 online for Gamecube thanks to Nintendo lack of interest when it comes to online. I hope am I wrong and midway put MK: DA online for Gamecube.

Midway no longer has an arcade division. Well, for production at least. I'm doubtfull that an online MK6 is going to be lag free, but I pray I'm wrong. If I'm not, then online tournies woulndn't mean jack-shizzle.]

The only true competition is live competition. To sit next to the dude and go at it. And yes, arcades are dead. However, they will get big again. With the way Midway is sounding, they seam to be working towards a stengthening the company. If such is the case, then maybe one day they will have an arcade division again.

youre wrong. After reading all the replyes, ive decided that online is the future. I mean, how many car rides are you gonna take to the arcade, everytime you feel playing? No But with MK6 online, you can wake upat 2 in the morning and say hey, I feel like playing online. See. Its virtually hassle free.

Online gaming is not the futre, it's here now.

Why do I get in my car - rather, the bus - and go downtown to play? Because of the social interaction, the peeps, the ability to go get some teriyaki after you're done playing and chill with you bros, talking about the days events.

I don't want some dumb ass throwing comments at me over a fiber-optics line, I want some dumb ass throwing comments at me who's sitting next to me. Someone I can get into the head of. Someone I can interact with and talk to. To learn from and they can learn from me. To show me shit, not just tell me. Not some faceless dude at the other end of my dsl line.

I want the smell, the laugh, the asian chick that just walked by me. The "holy shit" factor of some new, never befor seen, set-up or combo and the reaction of everyone around me.

I'm not saying online is bad, no no. It's good for some pick-up games and shit-n-giggles tournies. But the interactivity, the learning and knowledge gain of the game is nothing, nothing like being in good arcade environment.

online players < arcade players....any day of the week.

Agreed, online competition cannot emulate the feeling of fighting someone at the arcade. What I wish Midway would do is parter up with someone like Namco who IS still in the arcade manufacturing buisness.

I really wish the Arcades weren't dead here. It's all because the only games that are in the arcade now are hella-expensive light gun games, ride/racing games, or some other type of crappy game that sucks all your money for a timer that runs out in 30 seconds or less.
