I think that teaser is legit. It has all the hallmarks of Midway MK stuff.

Haha, nice. Reading some comments, I guess it's a fake. Still, it was pretty creative and nicely done. I might be convinced if I didn't read all the comments ahead of time.

the problem is someone with that much skill to make it isnt dumb enough to use the midway disclaimer, they would get their ass suied.

I was actually being honest when I said it has all the hallmarks of Midway. It wasn't a sarcastic comment. However, if it's a fake, it's a damn good fake with that disclaimer thing red just touched on. Besides, it's only a matter of time before Midway releases something with respect to MK8.

MY VERDICT: 80% legit!

the sound effects, the rain, are all classic midway trailer traits.. the charatcer looks like old shang, who took this form when he got to blaze, the fire explosion , could be the destruction of blaze, and the rain is putting out the fire.. thats what i get out of it.

We were talking about this on MKAC, Red....

It's a very Raiden-esque hat. The black mustache seems to me to represent him being young perhaps. It does kind of remind me of Shang, but he seems too young to be the old Shang from the MKA intro and, again, there's the hat.

The rain and sound does sound like a Midway thing. Kind of reminds me of the MK4 intro when Raiden is standing alone in the rain and the Deception intro where it's raining outside the temple.

Some things were pointed out, though...

1. The Playstation 3 logo in the trailer is the old version that's similar to the PS2 logo.

2. The RP (Rating Pending) logo apparently shouldn't be there. I guess they are supposed to submit the completed game to the ESRB for final rating before they can put that logo on anything. The RP logo then goes on any promotional ads that are out before the game's final release. And they shouldn't be to that point yet. I don't know exactly how the ESRB stuff works, though.

JTF's theory is this...

Some Midway worker leaked some concept art to the public (the Raiden render and maybe the MK logo). Then some guy got a hold of it and added the logos and whatnot to make it seem official.



I could go either way with this. I can't tell. I'm sure the fact that I'd love for this to be real keeps my optimism high.

GESS... you guys are really analyzing this mini clip. We will hear something soon. Remember Raidenwins mentioned that he spoke to Midway at that conference he attended in SF or something like that and they said definitely Oct/Nov is the target. I'm pretty sure it was Raiden that said that.

Anyways, we should just chill instead of postulating theories because something good will get released by spring. Pretty sure of it.

I was just going to say that let's just say "for argument's sake" (I know it's fake most likely unless Midway confirms something) but let's just pretend here and have some fun with it because I'm curious to see everyones views.

I don't think it has anything to do with Blaze since Boon & Midway said MK8 is something new all together.

That it's Raiden, there's a few possibilities. It could be pre-MK era where Raiden is younger with black hair and a mustache

B. It's Shang wearing Raiden's Hat(which wouldn't make sense according to the MK story we all know, however this is a new story all together so who knows? It might be shang, it might not be....

C. It's someone else entirely

D.If it's post-MKA storyline wise, it could be one of the two or even someone new....

I have a hard time picturing Raiden with a beard or any kind of facial hair, however remember Bo had no facial hair in his debut in MK:DA, but had a beard in MKD and in MKA so you never know.
