i strongly disagree with mko's review (or preview?) of mkd...
if not much has changed since mkda (and not much has really changed..yet anyway) id give it a 9.0
graphics id also give a 9.0..its obviously a bit more "polished" than mkda, which was already great looking.
konquest mode however, does look choppy..it reminds me of psx tenchu..i know the mode is more about content, but i hope the graphics will be better in the final version..as of right now, the konquest portion graphics are a 7.0 for me.
sound, mko is dead on...really brings back that "classic" dark vibe thats been missing from mk for a while now.
On a somewhat disappointing note, the in-game danger indicators seemed to serve relatively no purpose. While colors do flash and glow when danger is present, I never found myself paying close attention. It is generally quite obvious when a player is vulnerable to attack, so the indicators seem a bit redundant.
huh!? so youre telling me its obvious to know that the floor around you is gonna break? nope..danger areas show up on the indicators as yellow....some death traps are marked in read(the area around the death trap that is..)..but not all areas glow this red color....how are you gonna know when your in danger?..by the yellow light.
overall, id give the e3 build a solid 9.0...its mkda times two, that enough is reason to get this game..imagine what its gonna be like 5 month from now..
but i gotta tell ya, i got a feeling this game will get delayed just as mkda did..but you never know.
anyone else play mkd at e3? your reviews are welcome as well as anyone elses..

Yeah ... I am saying that you can easily tell when a death trap is present. There are the red outlines surrounding the hazards, and for any that are not, background animations sufficiently denote where the hazard will be.
Also, if "not much has changed since DA", you'd still give it a 9.0 ... then I am afraid you are missing out on something called "innovation". Publishers can't just churn out the same titles over and over again... otherwise the videogame market will just die. We need to be careful with giving games 9.0 and 10.0 all the time, or the truly exceptional titles will never be made.
However, you are entitled to your opinion! If you think the game deserves a 9.0, then great! It's good to know people still LOVE MK! I know I do!

Before the whining and bitching starts on this thread (you know who you are)I would just like to say that so far Deception looks amazing. I am very excited about this game coming out. Boon and his team obviously listened to us (well most of us) fans on these forums, and are going to deliver us a game we have wanted for years this fall. Even though the game at E3 was still in the beta version I thought it looked better than MKDA. MKDA in itself was a great game, but it is nice to see that the MK team used DA as a building block for Deception. I am anxiously waiting to try my hands at the Chess Kombat, and I know my wife and I will spend countless hours playing the Puzzle Kombat together. This to me is the MK we have been wanting for so long...and it's almost here. I just wish that all the whiners and moaners (you still know who you are) would take the time and look at this game for what it is: a game that will bring us MK fans countless hours of game play looking for secrets...building our very own character in Konquest mode...using our brains playing Chess Kombat...and killing off our opponent using the second fatality and the background fatalities that we as MK fans so desperatly wanted to see in MKDA. Well guess what folks...we are going to get all that AND MORE in Deception. I am having a hard time being patient for this game to come out, and the only thing that will get me through the next 5 long months is knowing that all you other MK fans out there are going through the same torment of waiting that I am. One last thing before I close my post which went on longer than I thought it would...this is a MK forum...with MK fans posting and reading posts, enjoying the excitement, and drooling over all the media that we've seen thus far about Deception. I feel that it is ok to express your opinions about things, but all these negative threads are getting to us all. If you don't like MK, or aren't looking forward to Deception...then please keep your negative threads to yourself. We real MK fans who love Mortal Kombat for what it is...a really fun and great game...don't appreciate all the negative stuff about MK on OUR MK forum. If you don't like MK...don't come here. Leave the forum to the fans who have been with MK from the start, and will be there until the end. Thanks for listening, and have a great day MK fans!!
P.S: Sorry to have rambled on, but I needed to get all of that off my chest.

And just my opinion, I wouldn't rate a game until you've actually played the game.

I think when the game is complete it might get ratings between 9.0-9.5-10.0 in game magazines and sites everywhere. In my eyes, it deserves an 11.
