Ah, but the two will vary slightly, Kitana will execute a throw when hers connects. At least it's not a total copy, but still.

Thanks warrior princess :) I just like her without out the mask because I feel it gives Kitana her very own identity when she's not wearing it. But its no big deal and its not like Ed Boon are reading only MY comments and doing everything that I say,lol, so I don't know why people are jumping down my throat. I don't mind it being on if it can be knocked off or she's unmasked in an alt.

That rolling fury move has been confirmed to be Mileena's though. Lame.

They should stop making Kitana copy/paste moves of other characters. The teleport was obviously from Jade. And the square wave punch from Sonya.

I really don't mind it TOO much if it's a minor move or something, but when you take something as iconic as Mileena's rolling fury move and apply it to someone else (in this case, Kitana), that gives people the vibe that the creators are drawing blanks on ideas for new and better moves.

Granted, I can probably guess why they did that (since Kitana and Mileena are so closely linked, etc.), yet I can't help but get that "we've got nothing" vibe. Being a writer, I'm all for character and story development, and have been a decent advocate for those things. Copy and pasting moves from other characters just makes you feel like you're playing as the same person from which the move was taken, and that's not really a feeling you want to project to your audience. Makes you feel like the franchise isn't breaking new ground in those areas.

I think the only reason they have Kitana masked in this game is because it was an iconic part of who she was. She's had that mask in one form or another (even in her secondary costumes) in all, if not a majority, of the games.

I really thought that unmasking her did wonders for her character development; like you, ProfesserAhnka, I think it gave her more of a personal identity than what she had masked. I know people will disagree with the whole "masked vs. unmasked" debate. We could call into question timeframes for when this game takes place (rumored circa MK2-3, but to my knowledge not officially confirmed), but the bottom line is that she's got it. I think both sides may actually be satisfied somewhat; I've heard speculation that, like Scorpion, Kitana's mask may come off due to damage. I know Kitana fans who like her unmasked may not be overly happy by the method it comes off, but for their sake let's hope for alternate costumes. You never know what may happen between now and the release date.
