posted02/27/2004 02:56 AM (UTC)byThe fatalities should have more gore.Like intestines and stuff coming out.In MK:DA When a body was smashed(cyrax fatality when he opens his chest)all that came out was little pieces that all looked the same.More realistic gore.

they werent too bad
alot better than the old ones tough
the new guts are kinda bland and undetailed
its good but i think they could make it more detailed and realistic

I just hope they don't use those things that look like rolled up pork chops any more.....
although BE CAREFUL! if it is too gory it gets kind of ridiculous and boring...

Ornate slices and shapes of flesh flying off when hit with a weapon. Blood we can see running from the nose etc. - keep the pain skins - have torn clothes. Louder, MK2 style hit sounds.
Fatality wise just as realistic as the specific fatality calls for. No neck stretching (Quan Chi), or stretching or blowing up ala balloon (Kabal - shit that we saw starting in MK3)- unless we're trying to seperate spinal vertebre.. in which loud cracking and an almost immediate headsnap would occur.. lol.

I agree with you. It seemed like after MK2 the gore went kind of downhill. I still consider MK2 the most graphic of the bunch. And Kung Lao's cut in half Fatality.... wow! That still gives me goosebumps. The gore in MK3 was ridiculous. I hated the fact that when a head was severed, the neck was a completely flat red circle with a little white dot in the center acting as a spine. How lame. Then came the 500 hands, feet, rib cages, arms, legs, and so on, when someone blew up. And in MK4.... I haven't played that in quite some time, but, if I'm not mistaken, when someone had lost thier head.... on the right angle... you could kind of see INSIDE an empty vortex. It was like a hallow body. Either that or it looked like the skin sorta folded over the decapitation point. And in MK:DA.... all I can say is.... I wanted to eat popcorn ALL the time! Anyway'z, to make things short.... More gore and more Fatality's!
mk has been going on way way too much blood lately. it's not about blood that makes a game gory. it's also the detail. i remember seeing intestines in mk2 and flipped out. the spine for sub zero's head rip was also awesome. they need to tone down a tad bit on the blood for fatalities and get back to detailed guts and intestines. puddles of red blood is more cheesy than gory.

The stuff from MK:DA wasn't controversial. It was, in some cases, humorous, though not overly intended to be (Quan Chi's neck stretch).
Since the early 90's and even before that, movies such as "Seven" have made MK's gore look tame. But more recently, videogames from "The Suffering" to "Manhunt" etc have done the same in MK's own backyard: Videogames. Honestly, if Grand Theft Auto can get away with beating up hookers with baseball bats, I think the MK team can come up with something a little more dark, gory, sinister, etc.
Something along the lines of cut scenes for fatalities, examples being someone ripping out someones intestines and hanging them with them. Or one of the military people slowly cutting off someones nose and putting it on a necklace before stabbing the victim in the neck (que blood vomiting). Some of you might think that these are too sick or too tame, whatever, not the point.
This series SHOCKED people in the first two games. The government was even concerned. Now games have come out that make MK's fatalities look childish almost. I thought MK:DA would try to reclaim the violence/gore crown, but that never happened.
This time around, I'm hoping Deception will bring it hardcore.

Dude... I was thinking the exact same thing I even posted up something like this from before.. Nobody replied though.. You're right they should reclaim the title of the most goriest game, and make Manhunt bow its head in shame.
