I didn't know which forum to post it in so I'm wondering if this idea is any good. We haven't had an MK tournament since MK2. MK3 and MK4 were invasions, MK5 was an invasion in the making and MK6 is most likely another invasion by the Dragon King.

So the idea is what if the next MK game was set in the past, 500 years before MK1 to be precise when the original Kung Lao was kicking ass and Goro was just another fighter. Shang Tsung was probably there too along with a member of Sub and Scorp's clan. Perhaps we see Quan Chi here and there and Shao Kahn as well. Rayden definitely.

I think if Midway takes this direction it can create another sub-series in the MK franchise just like how Capcom created the Alpha series for Street Fighter and at the same time creating the SF3 series. Midway can work on MK7 and quickly after release "MK0" which is a totally different fighting game with almost all new characters.
