Wait, you just contradicted yourself. You said that you want him to stay with the mortals, but then said you want him evil also. Obviously the mortals will have to get rid of Raiden if he's evil so...

No! That is not what I said! I said dark, not evil. There actually is a big difference between being dark and evil. Evil being for the alliance of bad, and dark for seeing things more strictly.

right you don't have to be evil to be dark and don't have to be dark to be evil take note
scorpion is dark but not evil
hoturo is light but evil (he does fight for order and means well, is just on the evil side is all)
think d&d rankings
one can be dark, light or grey
one can be chaotic, orderly (lawful) or neutral
one can be good, evil, or neutral
it all depends, and you can be any mix of the three at any time when you think about it
so no raiden isn't evil persay (even though I often call him an evil thundergod, but thats just the pariona talking) he is just really mad right now

Exactly!
As soon as Raiden gets strict with his people, everyone assumes that he is evil all of a sudden. Nice examples my friend.
Anyways, any other thoughts on my theory?

yeah I made a good point! anyway raiden going against the elder gods may or may not happen, I don't know, either he won't because of loyalty or will for the betterment of the realms, this is a wait and see situation if you ask me. Oh I just rememberd someting, maybe people are calling a stricter raiden evil because well its like the really good but strict teacher in school, in the end its for the best but no student, even the best ones, want that teacher anyway. Nobody likes a strict leader, even if they are doing the right thing

Not really the best way to put it... I respect all of my "strict" teachers. It is not their fault that they are being strict to settle down the class. You see, the teachers are strict because students goof off, in MK, that isn't likely to happen. Since it is fan fiction of all.
And yes, it is a wait an see thing.
But now that I think it over, I don't really expect to see it happen.

respect and like are two different things though
if you like someone, you don't see them with anger and contempt
if you respect someone, you understand them, and will not harm them, even if you don't agree with them
you may respect your strict teacher, but do you like them, or are you pissed at them for giving extra homework cause a few kids screwed up
just because you like your friends, are you going to respect the more idiotic ones that get themselves in trouble all the time?
I am sure even his enemies respect raiden, but they sure as hell don't like him

Yeah I like her, but you made a good point. Respect and likeing someone I guess are very different. But you are getting with what I mean for Raiden wise.

Interesting theory, but as I said in another thread, the point is kind of moot. I'm pretty sure the Elder Gods could snap their fingers (if they even have any), and blink Raiden out of existence.

But then again, that wouldn't be any fun wink
Maybe Raiden could somehow drain their god status/powers from them, and then kill them?

LOL, no one bothered with my reply... like I wrote, the Elder Gods would most likely have not created Raiden and the such so that they'll be capable of turning around and destroying them. Anger is just a blinding emotion, hardly comparable to a mother lifting a car off of her trapped child. Regardless of how powerful Raiden has become, he'll never surpass the Elder Gods. That's just common sense.

you mean like a death and rebirth of order kinda thing, a new set of eldergods to be born in the wake of the passing of the old, why not? but then the questions about mortal kombat raiden and the rest come in to play
what happens to everything we know?

Perhaps they don't have that kind of power. Remember, Raiden had to come to earth in the form of a mortal to make a difference. Either, they're too stuck up with rules, or they actually don't have as much power as we think they do.

I've always wantd to see something like this happen. With Armageddon spelling the end of an era, I think the slate needs to be wiped clean. The easiest way to do that? Destroy the Elder Gods.
The Elder Gods made Raiden an equal when he became one of them. With Fujin not fighting with Earthrealm in Deadly Alliance, let's just assume that he replaced Raiden (hence was granted the same power as the Elder Gods). We now have three Elder Gods we can identify. Four if you count Scorpion (not an Elder God, but with power granted by them). In the end you get the conundrum of "can God destroy himself?". Is the power of the Elder Gods enough to destroy the Elder Gods? One way or another I would like to see it happen.
Having Scorpion, Shinnok, Fujin and Raiden team up annihilate those who have cursed the realms would be fun to watch. A slaughter seems a bit much, but the power of the Gods could cancel out, and the realm of the Elder Gods ceases to exist. It writes these four characters out of the Mortal Kombat universe. With dignity no less.
