Ummm....if I'm not mistaken GTA:SA comes out in '04 too correct? MK:D will rock but it will not likely beat GTA.

Depends on your tastes, as I don't like GTA, Halo or Half-Life.

It will be up there, but Metroid Prime 2 will be close. For me personally though, MKD is easily the biggest release of 2004.

There are a couple of games called Halo 2 and Halflife 2. Deception will be a huge hit and will be the best fighter of the year, but game of the year isn't likely.

it will be in the top 5 most likely but halo 2, half life 2, and gta will give it hard competition...but we will see what works and what doesnt soon enough

What about Doom 3? I heard it was good..maybe I'm wrong, i dunno.

I have a hard time imagining it would beat Doom 3, Ninja Gaiden, GTA:SA and Halo 2.

If there won't be new Lemmings, Lost Vikings or 2D Megaman game, MKD will be the best game of the year..for me

It is certainly my favorite. I am also looking forward to Star Wars: Battlefront, the new Battlefield game coming out on consols, and Call of Duty, Finest Hour; but nothing can top MK. MKD will be unquestionably the best fighting game of the year (and probably the best until MK 7 comes out).

kotor 2 isnt even coming out thsi year. and raw vs smackdown???? the others are possible though. I dont think GTA will be game of the year unless they add something new to it. gta3 was awesome but vice city was basically the same game.

It's unlikely that MKD will win the game of the year award. It's a pity, but it'll be overshadowed by manu other games.

I would trade in all of those games to play MKD. It all has to do with sales and reviews. There are alot of gamers out there that love FPS and GTA so MKD will have a hard time beating them out. I would vote for MKD but I have not yet played the other games. It's just a matter of who likes what more in the end. DSB

I really hope it is if everything turns out like it suppose to be in the game with no major problems.I usually buy gta when it comes out but not this year gta is kind of getting stale especially now that the game is just going to be another gangsta based theme game blahh boring crap there running out of ideas and as far as halo that game is what you called overated.

i've read someplace that fable will give halo 2 a run for it's money, and that it wil have more freedom than gta. it was on ign i think.

I think Britney Spear's dancing game will beat all of them with people expecting to have her show some skin.

fighting games don't have as big of a fan-base compared to action or first-person shooter games, they'll sell more.

As for fighting games MK is the only 3D fighter coming out this year, tekken 5 won't be out until next year I think.

KOTOR II is coming out in Winter of 2004.
