Sorry I'm sixteen years late to the discussion. I just wanted to say that I did acquire a PAL copy of Mortal Kombat: Deception for the Original Xbox. I used Xored's Mini Launcher v2.2 and enabled codes in the trainer by Lampo--none of the codes even work sadly. I got a PAL copy to essentially play as any character in the most convenient way possible. When I read discussions from way back about the "internal commands to load any character", I was destined to find a way to make that happen.
I'd love to throw Ghost, Noob, Smoke, and Young Shujinko into dootoo's working NTSC trainer. However, I haven't found a single program that allows for editing EvoX Trainer Files (.etm files) for me to do so.
Any ways, if anyone would like to try these trainers out for yourself, you can snag both the NTSC and PAL versions of these trainers on archive.org through a simple search.

Here is a guide for those wanting to select the unplayables demonstrated in nukesgoboom's various collection of awesome videos.
Use the left analog stick to click through the hidden characters (click the right analog to change player two's unplayables). Each amount of clicks determines what number you selected, so count carefully! If you've clicked the left analog 15 times, it will reset back to 1st (Monster). Note: moving the cursor to another character resets the click count to 0 by default.
1st = Monster
2nd = Onaga
3rd = Jax
4th = Light Raiden
5th = Quan Chi
6th = Kung Lao
7th = Johnny Cage
8th = Sonya
9th = Nitara
10th = Shang Tsung
11th = Frost
12th = Kitana
13th = Drahmin
14th = Default
