Shipped does not equate to total sales. It's the amount of product shipped to retailers, and unless EVERY one of those copies has sold out, then it's less than 1 million sold.

Techinically, no. Every retailer needs to BUY their copies of software from the publisher. Therefore, Midway has sold 1,000,000 copies of Deception to retailers. It is now up to retailers to sell those copies (which they will surely do, considering retailers aren't stupid enough to buy significantly more units than they actually plan on selling.)

Maybe it's 940,000 but they just said a million to make it sounds better.

Well, it's slightly misleading, then, as the topic suggests that 1 million copies of the game are now in the hands of consumers.

O so they don't know how many actual people bought the game they only know how many RETAILERS bought the game?? Well damn Deception is awesome I am not surprised it sold 1000000 in a week.

I would buy one even it it retail at $25-$30 ($5-$10 more) if it got Xbox Live match (1on 1 match) on Mortal Kombat II and Mortal Kombat 3.

in one word...OWNED! lol this reminds me of the time socom hit some of its big records. but im not surprised they put alot of ads out for this game and put alot of stuff in it.

They actually didn't have that many ads out for it, only in gaming magazines really. No real tv spots to mention, unlike many other games that sell considerbly less.

What are you talking about? I see commercials for it on MTV ALL THE TIME. And that audience is precisely the ones that MIdway is attempting to reach, casual gamers who are gonna love the presentation and the violence of it all.

MK ad shows up at G4TechTV too, even Cartoon Netowrk. I think I saw one at Disney Channel.

Just to think of all the years Mortal Kombat is still going stronger than ever. We all had a hand in making this happen so congrads to us and Midway. We are all keeping the Kombat blood flowing and shall continue this in the future!

Im definitely happy with this game. Its just amazing, with out a doubt, the best Mk so far.

Ive been looking around the net trying to find out how many copies they sold i knew it was up there cause everyone i know bought it even the ones that have never really been into MK.

Had to import this game (as i live in the UK)

Just have to say feeling bad for Game cube users and all people who live in europe who cant play it yet but time is ticking by well worth the wait
