Mortal Kombat trilogie 2????

I think most if not all of us would love that. I wouldn't want it to be "Trilogy" though. I think it would be awesome if they took all the characters that were/are in MK4-6 and then create the characters that don't appear in any of them (Jade, Sheeva). Just wishful thinking...

On the contrary. It WILL happen.
It won't be that hard too. MKDA and MKD both utilize the same engine so Boon and Co. will only need to re-create the MK4 characters in proper 3D which they have for the most part, Jarek and Fujin at least. Kai is probably in MKD as well.
MKT2 would have all characters from the last 3 MK games, each with his or her own styles and weapons (trust me there is enough to go around). They'd also probably have to re-create some classic environments in full interactive 3D as well.
I mean the only characters they really need to redo are Kai, Jarek, Fujin, Shinnok, Goro and Reiko. Everyone else is ready to go and MKT2 wouldn't be that to create. It's cut & paste.

Looking at it that way, it might be possible. But then you have to take into account all the Fatalities, stages, the weapons and styles etc. Maybe on newer consoles it could happen. If it can happen now, I'd love them to make it!
Most of the fatalities have been done already.
To make MKT2. You take everything in MK6, add and slightly revamp MK5 characters (give them new fatalities, new moves, new combos and maybe new costumes) then you take MK4 characters and completely revamp them, giving them styles and weapons and new fatalities.
Then you make new endings for all the characters and remake some MK4 and MK5 stages to make them interactive and big like MK6 stages. Throw in a few CLASSIC (pre-MK4) MK stages to the mix as a bonus. A few new stages as well wouldn't hurt
To add a freshness as well, every character would have a NEW alternative outfit, even MK6 characters.
Konquest might need to be revamped a bit as well and puzzle kombat as well.
That is a lot of work (not too much though) but given the potential success and money that Midway will make, it is SOOOO worth it.

Well that's the thing many don't understand. The new characters are Shinnok, Reiko, Kai, Jarek and Goro. Even though they are old characters they will play and look like new characters. Look at Ermac for example in MK6, he isn't like the old Ermac, he plays COMPLETELY differently even if he does have a few similar moves.

I've brought this up before and I think they should have a classic kombat mode with the MK4/3 style of fighting in it... maybe make it unlockable... it wouldn't be terribly difficult, but could the current systems handle such an incredible undertaking with all the characters, levels, and info on the disc... maybe possibly on the next group of systems...

If you combine the MKDA and MK:D fighters, that is almost every fighter in the MK history.
they have everybody from MK1 and MK2 in those games, except goro and kintoro who are rumored to be dead, i think the shokans should stay dead cause they were just mid bosses, sheeva is dead too and motoro. But they have a new shokan in MK:D so we just use him instead.
mk3, everybody is in MK:D except dead sheeva and stupid styker.
the only people they are missing is from mk4,
those people being kai(garbage), jerek(filler, garbage) Fujin(i see him in mk7 when he is out of the prison in mk:D), jade(see in mk7), and reiko( see in mk7)
shao khan( see in mk7)
then MK8 WILL be the trilogy cause mk4 didnt have the same gameplay, it would be the 4rd game with the MKDA engine.
so MKDA, MK:D, mk7, MK8=trilogy.
mk7 will have the remaining 6 something fighters in that game, then all you would have to do is combine MKDA, MK:D and mk7 fighters and u have the whole roster. then just combine those and u have a trilogy.
if someone died in their ending , they could be in trilogy 2, but there ending should just say this fighter has died in MK ?(number) and there ending finishes.
now that i think bout people dying and seeing the hidden shadow slot for kabal, i dont think he will have his hookswords. i see some pike thing next to him. i think mavado still has his junk.

That's as if you ignore MK4's existence which isn't fair. That game brought MK into the world of 3D (even if it wasn't totally 3D). Jarek, Kai, Reiko, Shinnok and Fujin might've been garbage but they could become amazing characters after being revamped. Give them a chance.
A trilogy combines 3 games, which means the next MK game MUST be MKT2. MK8 can be the start of new trilogy.

I dont think it will happen, i dont really care eaither id rather if they just keep making new games like Mk7,8, and 9

I would like to see every character in any MK game with 2 fatalities and 2 costumes (or more) each. Every stage, too. Except, it's back to the classic fighting system (1 stance, 2d, etc.). That would be much easier than 3d.
