Hey guys i have a thought and I read the threads and didnt see it posted so ifi missed it go ahead and close the thread and tell me where the original theread is.
That being said I was thinking of this game online, after playing both mkd and mka online i was hoping that this being the first mk game on ps3 that they take away the rank system, i found that to be pointless everyone in the top 100 are boosters and quitters, so does anyone feel the same about this, cause ppl base you on your rank and that sometimes doesnt matter cause me myself play the best ppl and yes i do loose but you cant get better till you play the best any thoughts on this thread?

I agree with you on that Pimpy, but I think instead of a ranking system there should be a grade system like on DOA4. DOA4 had grade F to grade SS.that is what Midway should do is put in something like that.

Thanks man I dont play those games but anything is better then ranking someone, or another thing dont let it be capable to add multiple signon's I truly beleive this game can rock online, but with it be a hard T rating the teenagers will infest it like a disease and the hard core mk fans and DC alike will once again be seeing all these boosters and quitters taking the top spot.......but as i stated anything is better then there ranking system lol

I plan on playing it for Xbox and only Xbox...maybe the wii too if it gets some version of MK8
I hope they put in some newer online modes like tag-team, round robin mode like they did with UMK3 360

I have both PS and Xbox Live services, cheating is a problem accross both platforms. You can only have one account on the Xbox unlike the million PS2 names you can make.
Also, DOA4's online setup is exactly as MKF descibed and also what you have descibed.
You can sit in a lobby with a group of up to 8 players and wait in line to take out the winner. While you wait, you can view the match full screen just like the good old days of the arcade. It supports full voice chat to so you can talk shit to the loser, or champ for that matter.
Ed Boon mentioned that the MK online set up would mimic the old arcade scene much like DOA4's online setup does. I have no idea how well the PS3's setup will function due to the lack of an online infrastructure. Xbox Live's set up is already pre-built to handle all of the aforementioned arcade mimicry.
Peace

While we're on the subject of Online, I'd love to see some Achievements, kind of like a COD4 thing, but not really... I'm not making sense am I?
I'd love to see an Achievements page with such achievements as
"Do 10 Finishers Pt 1" "Do 25 Finishers Pt 2" "Do 50 Finishers Pt 3"
"Uppercut someone off into a new area"
"Win with Flawless VIctory"
"Win with VERY little health"
"Win with a throw"
"Throw enemy into Environmental Finish"
So on and so forth.

yeah i agree with you also pimpy but you for got the other type of people the "pullers" they do the same thing. but yeah i wouldn't mind that but at the same time i do like the rank thing (i don't know why) but if they did take that away that would be cool. i just hope online mode is not cheesy or any thing like that, and this is a very good thread since this game is going to be rated T then there are going to be a lot of kids most likely and I've seen a lot of kids easily start quiting, pulling and boosting.

Good point, personally I think with that idea hinted as you already confirmed by Boon it'll play better on Xbox personally but am sure the PS3 will be "doable" at least but most likely not as good as Xbox's superior online set ups.
@pimpy, yeah dude Malone beat me to it and is correct in that scrubs are on both consoles but it's also true that on xbox you have to at least buy a new name, instead of making 100 names for free(which is stupid)...then there's the fact that Sony allowed Gameshark on their version of MK online which is just dumb IMO but that's Sony's lack of moderation for ya. If I have a PS3, I'm hoping they ditch that gameshark nonsense...

no need to wonder if it can be done on the PS3.
it is being done w/ Tekken DR. it works great.
the only few things that suck about the PS3 online is not being able to Read mail while in a game. you have to quit the game and then read the mail, kinda annoying so i kinda forget to read the mail i get.
im not sure if Xbox does this but, not being about to chat w/ some one other then the ones in your game that your playing. id like to play tekken and chat w/ some one who isnt playing it.

I don't see the point to a rank system, it only makes idiots judge someone's skill before taking them on. Take Halo 2 and 3 for example. I know one guy {and dear God i hate him so much} who thinks he's the shit because he wasted all his time getting up to like a level 45 or something by just sniping and hiding all game. He talks shit to everyone, and the funny thing is we went to the same school and he'd get his ass kicked in a real fight. Ranks mess with the minds of those sad sad people everywhere.
