Most effective fighting style on MKDA?
Tyrant18 Wrote: In your opinion what is the most effective fighting style on MKDA? I'm going to go with Scorpion's Pi Gua, even though it has a short list of moves it is deadly effective and does massive damage. |
I agree. Both Scorpion styles even hapkido are dangerous.
Johnny's Jeet Kune do is good too.
Tae Kwon do is very sneaky, love it, high/low mixups can catch any1 off guard.
Crane, although weak, is very fast and can get some good hits in.

taekwondo ROCKS. one of my favs
not to mention surprisingly, tai chi is very useful, especially when you use mokap and do a branch style combo from karate to tai chi, you can do some good damage, and even better if you branch it into taekwondo

I think Hapkido and SOnya's second style, i think tae kwon do, along with Nitaras karma scythes would be deadly!
It's kama, and I think Karate kicks some major ass, specially agaisn't Moloch.
The Nunchaku are pretty good too, and I just love dat Katana.
hmm...not sure if the weapons count, but you're topic is called ''Most effective fighting style on MKDA?'', and the weapons are considered fighting styles, so there.

actually a lot of kung lao's attacks in my opinion are a lot slower than they should be. on a lot of his moves there's this short wind-up period where he kind of announces what he is going to do. like the b-4 and u-4 attacks especially are really slow compared to some other attacks by characters like scorpion that have the same function (sweeping and launching). don't get me wrong, i am a kung lao fan too. his alternate costume was really nicely done.
scorpion's hapkido is probably the most versatile of the styles, so i might cast my vote for that style as being the most effective. it's not my favorite, but it has probably the most straightforward attacks that a mortal kombat fan would expect, with a lot of nice low, mid, and high attacks. sonya's tae kwon do lends itself really well to the mdka game style, as it has a lot of mixing of high and low attacks in the combos, making it hard to defend against her. i have a harder time fighting her than anyone else on max difficulty. both of reptile's styles i find really effective and look very cool too. sub zero's shotokan is a very effective style, although rather standard looking. his dragon style looks a lot cooler, but unfortunately doesn't have the diversity of attacks that his first style has.

I say Tae Kwon Do aswell. Sonya uses those attacks pretty quickly too. Besides, Shang Tsung's second martial art is also pretty effective, although you can easilly defeat its combos if you just defend/reverse them and then counter. But if the first strike passes, you're off to a World of Pain.
