Based on the story lines... yes.. hes a boss.

Gameplay wise in MKA.. no. He has no boss qualitys except for his jumps.

You can still use Air Combos on him... as well as throw him.

Same thing goes for Shao Kahn.

in the storyline he is, but 100% playable on the level of everyone else (except for PERFORMING air combat). in other words, anything that can be done to a regular character, can be done against motaro. same as shao khan. where it's obvious that things change is with Moloch, Onaga, and Blaze. goro and kintaro are in the middle i guess, cause of no throwing and not the same air mechanic.

God so if some picked Moloch against me when i pick motaro then they would be considered a scrub right? For lack of a better word.

Groy was the first to use Motaro against me. Since that series, he has become part of my roster.

He's definitely not a boss simply because you can throw him. However, him drop kicks have priority over most but he's completely playable.

Mixing up her special moves are more good tactics.

I was trying to keep you out of it and let it be more of a blanket statement. I didn't want to be so specific.

Now that it is out. Basically I pm MKF because he quit after i had already won 7-6 then he cought up to 8-7 him and then he quit.

I was pissed.

But he messaged me back to say that if i picked motaro against reptile that i would get moloch. I made him sound stupid with this thread so now i get a lesser evil and that is goro. Because he thinks motaro is a boss like moloch and blaze! Moron!

Meso if that is true that is pretty bad. Motaro is a regular character...maybe worse because he lacks air combat. kintaro, Goro, Moloch, Onaga, Blaze are the boss characters. For someone to want to respond with Moloch vs Motaro is like picking a gun vs a knife. unless of course the opponent didnt realize what Motaro was like...but only a newb would be that ignorant. In either situation it is bad for your opponent.

Of course Motaro is not a boss if you are speaking in terms of gameplay. I've had more than a few idiots on the PS2 pick Moloch, Onaga and Blaze against me when I picked Motaro. Once, I tried to convince an idiot that Mo' Mo' is not a boss in the PS2 lobby, but his ignorance got the best of him. I tried telling him that Mo' can be thrown and air juggled just like any other normal character. I told him to play as Motaro and see how hard he is to use effectively, just like any other mid-tier character.

The reason why you may be accused of using a "Boss" (so to speak) when using Motaro is that you may be using him at a very high level. A high level Motaro player can be just as difficult to beat as Blaze or Moloch. Motaro can own you with just one move...

Gameplay wise he's not as bad as moloch, goro, kintaro, blaze etc but is irritating at times lol.

I learned from malone about the mullet kick that it's great anti air, but can be parried.

Now I see what all the fuss was about. Well MKF, you really shouldn't have to counter pick Motaro. To beat Motaro, just block high , sidestep and punish any missed Mule Kick. That's what I do when I face pretender Motaro players . Most players do not understand the key elements that make Mo' so "irritating." By the sound of it, MeSoFly understands the key if he caused you to counter pick Mo'.


Sounds like I created a monster by learning Mo' and sharing my tricks with the world lol!
