multiple endings Idea
This is basically stolen straight from Killer Instinct 2: Imagine this; Sub-Zero's mission is to take down the dragon king. If you do a fatality on Smoke, Sub-Zero dies in his ending because he didn't have an ally in Kombat. If he spares Smoke, Sub-Zero and Smoke team up and take out the dragon king.
example 2: If Liu Kang kills Raiden, he never regains his mortality. If Liu Kang spares Raiden, Raiden restores Liu Kang's human form after he defeats the Dragon King.
What do you think?
I like that a LOT. Depending on who you spare, or even who you get flawless victories on, your ending could be different. It could vary from a decent ending to an excellent ending.
Or hey, it could be like Jak's ending in Tekken 3...where it kind of built on it. So Sub's ending could be cool, but there could be ways to unlock MORE of it.
I like it. As far as story purity goes, it might get a LOT of people talking about what could/could not happen in the MK universe. But that could be a good thing....we'll see.

Yeah it's a great idea.
It makes KI2 more fun and would this.
I would add to it this way, example to follow:
Let's say you are Sub-Zero and failed to kill Sektor. Just before the final boss there could be a FMV showing Sub-Zero approaching the DK for the final showdown and suddenly Sektor stepping from the shadows and firing a missile which grazes Sub-Zero before exploding into the wall behind him. Sub-Zero would then be forced to fight Sektor again with some of his lifebar already reduced from the graze and explosion behind him.
Different scenarios like this for all characters, maybe even more than 1 per character.

Cool idea,
Anyways, I got one,
Scorpion fights Subby and spares his life. When Scorpion meets the Dragon King a FMV shows Subby walking out of the shadows and launching a huge ice ball at the DK. When Scorpion starts the fight, the DK has a chunk of his life missing.

I love Nitara so I'm gonna say she does the neck bite fatality on Zombie Liu Kang.
As a result Liu Kang is transformed into a Vampire and fireballs DK so you can start the final fight with some of DK's lifebar gone already.

I like the idea of various endings depending on the actions you take in the game. This could add a great deal of replay value to the game.

EXACTLY. MKD already seems to have a lot of replay value, but this would just top it off for me.

That would be the shit, but it would take mad long to implement so many endings.

I made a thread about this a while back. I think that there should be several modes of gameplay that allow a character to have multiple endings.
Example: And arcade mode, in which one just fights a certain amount of random characters and gets a part of an ending, and let's say, a hero/villain mode, depending on who you pick, who fights only characters who're aginst them (Example: Jax wouldn't fight Raiden or Sub-Zero, but he'd fight Sektor and Noob Saibot), and get the second part of an ending.

That sounds reasonable Jerrod.
That hero/villain mode could be implemented as an unlockable secret and when unlocked you can play it through with everyone and see extra and exciting storyline twists and scenarios.
