My view on the game.
What we have here is Mortal Kombat vs DC. At first, I wasn't too keen on the announcement, however with more and more being revealed, it looks better and better.
Things I have noticed:
The fighting seems to have still retained somewhat of the Armasgeddon/Deception fighting mechanic but without the choice of fighting styles. The air kombat looks like it may have remained.
The concept looks almost like what Deadly Alliance was. One fatality per character without any stage fatalities. This time however, they left in the way you can fight in one area and end in another. The best so far is the "Test your might" wall run.
From what I see from this series, it seems that the first game in the series of games always is new and different direction then the previous games. For example, look at MK 1, then look at MK 2, then MK 3. MK 1 had the most realistic graphics in the series by far. One fatality per character and the one famous pit fatality stage. MK 2 brought in the Friendships and Babalities. MK 3 brought in the combo system that I personally did not care for. MK Trilogy mashed all the characters together in one game using the MK 3 fighting system.
Now MK 4 has been forgotten, but it was where the series would go next, 3-D. With Deadly Alliance it went back to an MK 1 formula. Fresh, new, and trying a new combat system with the changeable fighting styles. No stage fatalities. Deception brought in much more like MK 2 did. Much More. Armageddon was basically MK Trilogy in 3-D.
Now with MK vs DC, it goes back to MK 1 formula. Try a new approach, new characters, no stage fatalities like Deadly Alliance. (No stage fatalities as of yet of course.)
Now I know that we don't know all the details of this new game, but it seems to be following the same pattern the other games did.
That is what I notice. Now for what I will say about the new game itself:
The characters in MK vs DC look great. The fighting system looks faster and more smooth then previous chapters. The fatalities are of course a welcome feature. However, with Superman's and Scorpion's shown, the starting animation looks the same, but with a different outcome. From what I notice anyway. I mean, it would be better if Superman's eyes didn't glow before he pounds his enemy into the ground. Personal option.
The backgrounds look great, of course I hope for death traps, but not likely we will see them in this game. After all, it is suppose to be a "T" for Teen rating of a game.
As for the character selection, not suprised:
Batman
Superman
Catwoman
The Flash
Captian Marvel
Sub Zero
Scorpion
Sonya
Lui Kang
It would be nice to see Kabal and Doomsday. Those are characters I want in the game. As for the rest, I don't care. Except I don't want Sheeva. I never cared for her.
That's all I have to say about that.
