Are you sure... I would think they would call Sereena an Oni in MKTE rather than a Demon... though they mix up Lin Kuei and ninja after Sub-Zero got all angry about it in MKM:S-Z...

I think there are different types of oni's and demons. Look at Moloch, he looks nothing like drahmin, and as far as i can tell, noob saibot is far different from both of them. Each oni/demon also has there own set of unique and special powers. Drahmin carries a metal club, moloch has 3 eyes and weilds a rock, noob saibot is pure black and has mystic powers, while scorpion can breath fire, take off his mask, and shoot harpoons. Each are different.

Also, noob saibot comes from the DARKEST region of the neatherealm, the 5th plane. Perhaps thats why he is what he is, pure dark. I would like to get introduced to different types of demons and oni's, with unique looks and different powers. The ones we see right now are pretty awesome.

I, personally, would like to see a dracula and a zombie from the neatherealm, as well as a grim reaper. A werewolf and a minotaur would be nice to.

As for sareena, i think she was like reptile before. Shes a hideous monster in disguise of a human form, concealing her true form.

IMO sareena seems more like a demon. A oni seems more trecherous.

This is what I think:
Netherrealm demon: A demon who has the ability to change from their hideous demonic looks into a beautiful human being. I think it relates to the succubi and incubi.
Sareena is a Netherrealm demon and as human she is seductive and beautiful, and as a demon she's hideous and evil, just like a succubus.

Shadows: From the darkest corner of the Outworld comes the shadowy demons. They are all black with glowing eyes. When Shao Kahn conquered their land, he forced them to aid him in war. But they were ashamed to be among others, so they disguised themselves in black clothes.
Noob is one of these and has mystic shadow-related powers. Though he seem to be more loyal to Kahn than the rest of his people, so Kahn took him in as a personal assassin.

Oni: These three demons are some of the greatest and most furious demons of the Netherrealm. They seem to have somekind of special place in MK myth, but I don't really know what. We need to see the third Oni.

Umm I dont know if thats your personal opinion or not because, Kahn never conquered the Netherealm. Those "shadowy demons" belong to the Brothers of the Shadow. The Brothers of the Shadow are SHINNOK'S personal ninja assassins, of which Noob Saibot was a member. The Brothers of the Shadow emerge from darkest region of reality, the Netherealm. Quan Chi offered a place to Sub-Zero when the ninja was in the Netherealm trying to get Shinnok's amulet back. During Shinnok's war, these warriors wore body armour or uniforms marked different to those of the Brotherhood. In Earth Realm, they were percieved as Death itself, especially with some Brotherhood warriors using scythes as weapons.

Noob Saibot is a ninja who fought in the Outworld tournament. He belonged to the group called the Brothers of the Shadow, and worshipped the evil and mysterious fallen Elder God, Shinnok. His mission was to spy on the events taking place in the battle between the realms of Earth and Outworld, then report back to his enigmatic leaders. At first a passive observer, Noob Saibot soon received orders to side with the evil emperor Shao Kahn.

Saibot's leaders in the netherealm wanted him to join Kahn's battle to gain his trust and to gain entrance into the Earth Realm. If and when Kahn dropped his guard, Noob Saibot was ordered to attack. With both the Earth realm and the Outworld's emperor defeated, the fallen elder god known as Shinnok could take both realms and gain the power he needed to strike back at the elder gods who banished him into the Netherealm.

However, Shinnok was defeated by Earth Realm and Edenian forces. Still under orders from Shao Kahn, Noob Saibot was commanded by the emperor to eliminate any groups or individuals whose power might pose a threat to Shao Kahn's rule in Outworld. Many would-be leaders had been slain by the dark ninja, but his current target would be his most challenging.

The allied forces of Princess Kitana and Prince Goro were locked in mortal kombat with Shao Kahn's army when Noob Saibot made his move on an unsuspecting and battle-weary Prince Goro. The two fought savagely, but it was Noob Saibot who gained the upper hand and mortally wounded Goro, killing him.

No, I don't think so. Japanese mythology speaks of three Oni; if Sareena is an Oni, chances are her MKM companions Kia and Jataaka are as well. Added to Moloch and Drahmin, that's five. I'm pretty sure the three Oni are a specific type of demon, while Sareena and co. are another variety. Noob, I think, is something other than a demon. Shinnok's allies probably included a variety of Netherealm denizens, including, perhaps, spectres. I think Noob is more along the lines of a spectre, but that's just my opinion.

Oni means demon in japanese huh?... hmm... well the MK Oni aren't as intellegent as Sereena who is upright called a Demon... Moloch and Drahmin seem to be more animalistic...

It does? what mythology is this? Where did you get that information? As far as I know, Oni is just the word for demon or "devil" in Japanese. Look at the game ONImusha. Hmm. Not talking about speciffic demons there.

Though original mythology speaks of a specific 3 Oni, it has grown to encompass all demons and devils. As for the number limit, that could merely be the number of Oni the Japanese people had experience with in the MK Mythology.

As for the differance between a Demon and an Oni, I feel there is one, despite the fact that their names are synonomous. Oni seem to be the tormentors of the damned. Their role in Netherealm "society" seems to be to torture the spirits of the dead, and to fulfill that duty in its entirety. However, it does seem that each Oni is unique, leading one to believe that they are individual beings created at the beginning of time or converted through torture and perversion such as Drahmin. This would mean that the Oni are not a specific race, as much as a specific role.

Demons seem to be more of a species native to the Netherealm. Though evil by nature, they are actual creatures rather than torturous hellspawn, and reside with the Oni simply because of their mutual place of origin.

The Brotherhood of the Shadow is neither Demon nor Oni. Instead, they seem to be the servants and assassins of Shinnok; humans or other races perverted by the darkness of their new realm and their lord. This perverse inner darkness then reflects upon their outer image, and they become darkness themselves. If they were simply a race of their own, then Sub-Zero would never have been able to become one.
