A reporter from an isreali gaming site is at the german GC, he did an interview with Ed Boon: Here's a transltaion:
Q: You're now working on MK vs DC, tell us about the game?
ED: Well, it's gonna be the 8th MK game, we've been making these since 1992. We wanted to change everything. Fighting games need to do this from time to time, to restart and change the dynamic of the gameplay. The DC characters is the most dramatic change we could have imagined.
The game is not even rated "M" anymore, is all new, all fresh. We get great reactions, people say it's a brand new game, all the changes, including the new "Klose Kombat, it all creates something new and that's what we want from this game.
Q: So what about the famous violence of the series?
ED: Many people are wondering about that, thinking the game won't be violent.
Q: It's a fighting game, ofcours it will be violent!
ED: Exactly, you can steel show blood on a "T" rated game, it's not a kids game, it's more like you're normal action movie. It's still feels like Mortal Kombat. Only the most insane stuff, things like rippin heads, won't be in this game.
Q: In terms of gameplay, is it truly a brand new start, ot does is still have elements from pervious games?
ED: I feel that it's a brand new game, it's more 2D oriented, you can move in space, but the fighting is 2D and so is the feel of the game.
In every fighting mode, the idea is to break the classic pattern of fighting games. The changes we made give this game a totally new feel from the previous games. It feels more interactive.
Q: What will make this game stand out from other fighting games?
ED: I think the recognizable characters of DC like Superman and Batman will attract people that usually don't play fighting games. It's much more accessible then some of the more technical fighters like Virtua Fighter. And the story mode is very detailed and fun, the story explains how the worlds collided, MK and DC. I think people will love the story mode.
Q: How will the online play work?
ED: It will be sort of a lobby, players will be able to meat in a room and challenge each other. The winner will be announced in the room. It's like a meeting place for the community
Q: When will it be out?
ED: It's coming out November this year, for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
Then the writer adds his hands on impressions.
He says its a brand new game that old fans may not recognize. He really liked the klose kombat and in general says the game is cool, lot's of action, fast paced and blah blah blah...
Nothing new...
