I woul;d say either.

Both are well rounded. Playwise, I'd prefer to use Nightwolf as his moves are better imo. Storywise again, Nightwolf is better, but only slightly. Cage is a classic MK character andhas a bigger fanbase than Nightwolf despite his rubbish story. I'm not a fan of either of them so I wouldn't be bothered which of them appeared. Although Nightwolf is looking and seeming very badass in MKD.

Nightwolf is shaping up very nicely. The reprise of Cage in MK:DA left alot to be desired (I know they were working without a whole lot of time, but still) and Nightwolf is coming out of no where and showing his worth, which is making me very happy.

really want somewhone else to take there place

i would go with nightwolf simply because JC played too much like Law from Tekken and that Nightwolf has better moves and unique styles than Cage.

Nightwolf looks to be powerhouse in Deception while Cage in DA was nothing more but a major disappointment to me

no that was sonyas fighting style. i have seen another person with karate that was JC fighting style.

the fighter select screen was early in development or testing. no ashrah will not have karate, and no nightwolf will not have sonyas moves.
BOON said every fighter has their own unique fighting style and special moves.

so dont worry. even though i kinda am. scorpion has a new fighting style and i saw hotoru with his pi gai fighting style.

I think Nightwolf had too much of a Village People vibe in MK3, and thanks to that, I never really liked him. His kicks also looked really pathetic, while Johnny Cage (at least in MK1 and 2) looked and moved great.

I think Nightwolf looks alot more interesting in MKD than he ever did before, and I definitely don't consider him a complete waste of roster space (like I did back in the MK3 days), however I'm not sure what I think of the fact that they bring him out of nowhere when he was completely absent during MK4 and MKDA. Generally I would say it would make more sense for Cage to return than Nightwolf, and of course that'd make me happy, being a big Cage fan and all... But as things are shaping up, I'm actually not that bothered by the fact that Johnny seems to be sitting out this time.

If I had to choose, I'd probably rather have Johnny Cage, but it's definitely going to be interesting to see what Nightwolf can bring to MKD. :)

I'm going to have to say either would be fine with me. Nightwolf is looking really good in this game, but Johnny Cage still does kick ass. Either would be fine with me.

I agree with the quoted part. Cage is horrible IMO. I got the Van Damme jokes back when Van Damme was still making movies that were released in theaters, but now... Johnny Cage is just old. I liked his tear you in half fatality in 2, but his moves are always sort of lame to me. I don't understand why he has magical powers, since he is supposed to be a hack movie actor... They need to put him on ice for a long time...

honestly, i am surprised to see johnny cage lasted as long as he did, popularity wise... i never found him to be anything to stress over, even back in the mk1 days.. all my friends adored him.... i think ever since his rising from the dead..... he just sucks... IMO of course.
Nightwolf on the other hand never bothered me... and now i think he will have his chance to shine.

It's nice to see so many ppl giving Nightwolf a chance in this poll and in Deception. Give JC his nutcracker punch and his story a revamp and I'll give him a chance.

It's nice to see Nightwolf finally getting the cool makeover he deserves, but my vote goes to my old favourite Johnny Cage.

Johnny cage. I think he is one of the most important originals. After reading many posts about him, I come to realize many hate him as much as many love him.

Im happy he is not in deception, but he must return, thats for sure.

Yeah, he can sit out another game if he wants but, Johnny Cage has to return. It's good that they are giving two of my favorite characters, Kabal and Ermac, a second chance. But Johnny Cage, never the less, must return.

Johnny Cage. Nightwolf was basically a morphed version of Cage in MK3. Johnny's Shaodw Uppercut became Nightwolf's tomahawk swing. (though not half as cool, workd the same) Johnny's Shadow Kick became Nightwolf's rush. Of course, the low blow was gone, and Nightwolf gained that reflector move that rocked, but that was Nightwolf's only non-coppied move (well, projectile arrows weren't, either.) So Cage could beat Nightwolf easily, since those were his moves in the first place.

Come to think of it, Shao Kahn's moves were also ripped off Cage moves...... both were Shaodws that moved behind the character, and one went along the ground and the other through the air. Dang, how did I miss that 'til now?

Where did u see his vedrtical blast, i didnt see that yet, was it just said or was it in a trailer? Anyways i think Nightwolf is cooler, ever since Mk:Da i hated Cage. Cage was cool in Mk4 and the rest of the other games, but when Mk:Da came out i gave up hope with him. Anyways Nightwolf looks so kick ass in the new game. His weapon stance looks like it is very fast, very good! Cant wait to play wit him

Though I like Nightwolf, Johnny Cage is my favorite character, so of course Johnny Cage. as johnny_cage_win said Nightwolf is basically a rip off of Cage. But I'd rather have both.
