At the rate this is going, the series might not last very long, as the the games will go off of the story.

A lot of groups and clans are about to be terminated, but the Forces of Light and Darkness should remain forever, regardless of who's apart of it. This "war" has torn both groups apart. I just don'tsee how this could've happened.

At first, the whole "race to the top of the pyramid" thing was pretty random, confusing, out of place, and just plain stupid. However, since we now know that Shinnok is using everyone to destroy each other while he takes the power for himself, that makes things more interesting and logical.

Pre-retcon Scorpion is a neutral character who is essentially a good, but conflicted person.

Post-retcon Scorpion, who I most certainly despise, is an evil character who goes around, looking for trouble, only to get his sorry ass handed to him, time and time again. He represents everything wrong with Scorpion, but a lot of people can't/don't see this.

As for the intro, yes, it's canon, but not everything that happens in it is canon such as certain characters getting killed (e.g. Li Mei, Kenshi) or the neutral characters actually siding with the evil characters.

who's to say it isn't canon since the intro is technically the ending, and there is no real ending since they are scrapping this story in mk 8

But Shinnok isn't the face of the story; Taven is, yet his position seems very vague. The only thing, that seems to make any sense is the origin of the Red Dragon.

Well, yeah, Taven is the central protagonist of the story, but Shinnok is the main villain. What do you mean when you say that Taven's position seems very vague?

I heard that Hotaru is a zealot of the Dragon King. And in the MKA intro movie, you know that scene where the good MK kharacters and the evil MK kharacters were running up to each other?
Well, I had noticed that Hotaru was on the evil characters' side and he killed his girlfriend!!!!(Li Mei)

So... there's a good good chance that Hotaru must be evil!
