That's the reason why this is bad news. Nintendo not using their online capabilities on the Cube could hinder MK6's game design. And it'll be a big blow to Cube owners like myself.

As I said before in a another thread(MK realease date thread) that Mortal Kombat 6 hasn't been announed for any system by Midway. We all just know that Mortal Kombat 6 is in the works. Also there is no reason for Midway to can the Gamecube version since it sold alot as a 3rd party game. Here are the numbers that MK: DA sold on each system.
playstation - 1 million +
Xbox- 450,000
Gamecube -250,000
I will be getting Mortal Kombat 6 on Gamecube , I would be dissapointed if MK6 didnt make it to GC. As you can see that Gamecube 's MK: DA did sell considerable and also helped MK: DA sell 2 million. It is very very unlikey that Midway will can the Gamecube version of the game, but then again it is posssible ,again unlikey. Also since I do mostly buy Gamecube games I do go to igncube and they have said nothing about MK6 for Gamecube being canned. End the end we all have to wait till e3 to find out the real story. Till next time
PS console fanboys/bashers are lame

| OutworldDemon Wrote: i hate gamecube. I'm glad if they don't put it on MK6 cuz that would just cause extra work to change it form onlne to no online feature. Maybe they could have u connect yer gamecubes (like wif that ne FF game) and they could do that on Xbox too and also have it online for Xbox |
they just plain ignornat, all of them are currently being work on at the same time. and as for mk6 not being online for the gamecube, who to say they havent or have no online plan they might have a online plan or something. remember the game is still being made. or they can just replace that feature with a exclusive character for the gc, that or a bonus content to make up for not being online.midway would be shooting themselfs in the foot if they dont bring mk6 to the gamecube. until something is announced by midway, i still see mk6 coming to the gamecube.
I would't mind that MK had no online... I wont pay for a service to fight someone when I can fight the computer thet is just as good for free!
| Jerrod Wrote: Crap... I have no intention of buying a new system for the game though. I'll just have to live without MK6 if it doesn't come out for it... (sniff) :'(. |
Me too ....
I love MK but if it doesn't come out in GCC i will feel betrayed...
OR
We don't get online capability for all the consoles. Promises were made on MKDA, they all didn't come true.
If they shaft online play totally because of the Cube, then expect all cube owners to get a nut removed (girls hmmm a nut added?). I would also be pissed if XBox got shaftted too (it has the best online setup), so there is no pleasing. Its gonna be interesting.

Noob Saibot pwns all.

I agree with you. I would perfer to see them all have the enjoyment of Mk6 and if need be scrap the online idea. I haven't been a fan of fighting games online since I knew the consoles would have online capabilities. The only games I like to play online are fps, racing and I will play FF11 I think it is when it comes online for ps2. And I am currently waiting for Halo 2 on xbox. Those are the only console games I play online.

Not really... N64 was WAY better than any other console at that time!
I'd say GC is for nintendo/old school fan. If u want to play super sports games or those spy ones (splinter cell, ghost reckon, rainbow 6... etc.)you get XBox or PS2...
Honestly... i thibnk Nintendo esclusive games (Zelda Marios) are worth far more than some games like max payne... then again... I'm a nintendo freak....
U said they may not apply online beause of nintendo? that is probably not gonna happen... they have made online ghames for all 3 consoles that were not online for Gamecube...

That isnt true about what type of games you should get for Gamecube.Gamecube is meant to play any type of game. I have many types of games on my Gamecube. As a gamecube owner I didnt just buy Gamecube for its 1st party titles, in fact out of the 14 Gamecube titles I own I only have 1 1st party title. I've had 2 other 1st party titles( mario sun sunshine and wave race) but sold them due to me not liking them. Gamecube is ment for playing games, not just Nintendo games. 1 of those 14 games that I own is Splinter cell which is great on Gamecube. I said it before I'll say it again Nintendo biggest probelm is its fan base. There fanbase only buy mostly 1st party games on Gamecube and that is lame for Gamecube owners like me that buy mostly 2nd and 3rd party games since they dont sell on supposed GC fans that only buy 1st party games. No wonder 3rd party suport for GC is going away. Wake up Gc owners, Gamecube is a gaming machine not a Nintendo machine. I would like point out that Midway hasnt stop supporting Nintnedo since Midway did release Midway arcade treasures a few weeks ago. So to me MK6 on GC is on its way just like PS2 and Xbox

What do we know?
Online Play
Equality on 3 consoles (proven by MKDA)
So what now?
Well don't feed it after midnight and we're good. Err umm something is gonna happen with the online part of the game. It may get the heave ho, N doesn't get MK6, we all have to pay for the online services, or no online services at all.
Yet, lets suppose we do get online play on all 3. Lets lower it down to the smallest delimeter, Cube! Why that? No hard drive support. So at most, the downloadable content can fit on a memory card of sorts. So whole levels, new fighters, butter crackers? I'm sorry I think not. It'll be crap like pictures of the crew, or maybe the ability to unlock parts of the game.
OR
are we looking at this all wrong? It could be like the Star Wars DVD?! Pop it in to your CPU and get access to something umm online?

Actually the GC version of the game sold over 1 million, according to Nintendo it sold 1.2 million, thus it being put on the players choice list. only the PS2 version of the game sold better, with over 2 million, so if any version would be scrapped it would be xbox. (or atleast if they're being logical.)
