The intro may or may not be canon, but Im going to assume when its all said and done that Kenshi is going to be amongst the dead.

The intro is canon, but not all of the events within the intro itself are necessarily going to be canon.

That would make it, as a whole, not canon.

No, it would make the intro partially canon, kind of like with endings such as Frost's MKDA ending.

How I look at it, Konquest is canon, so all you have to do is try and match up characters in the video to the characters that appear in the video.
The important characters I feel (in regards to this discussion of whether or not the intro is canon) are Goro and Scorpion.
Firstly Goro, He doesn't appear in the intro, at all. In Konquest he was beaten by Taven and was left either dead or unconscious. Either way he was stuck in Outworld along with Mileena and Reiko (Who were in the intro). All three have never shown any realm teleport abilities unlike Raiden who was also beaten by Taven.
Perhaps the most recognisable character of the MK series was left out of the intro. And we know there was intention to put Goro in the intro, That picture of Goro on the pyramid steps in the Krypt shows this. So, based on this, possibly the intro is canon.
On the flipside there is Scorpion. Scorpion was beaten by Taven just before Armageddon and certainly wouldn't have been able to recover to appear in the first moments of the intro considering that. So based on that the intro can't possibly be canon.
But there is another detail that might make the intro, canon.
Just before Onaga snatches Shao Kahn the line: "And Alliances will be broken." And all MK nerds know that Shao Kahn stole the throne of Outworld from Onaga. So that part never made any sense until Konquest.
But in all I just think the intro is just a fanwank for MK-ers, There isn't enough information in Konquest and the intro and we've almost certainly stumbled into the moment where they have are making up the bios as they go along. Ashrah's and Nitara's mini fued never even got a mention before and seeing as there is some detail behind it as well.
The only thing that makes the intro canon is Goro's non appearance.
In all then: tl;dr. i dunno lol.

I dont buy the Scorpion couldnt have recovered, Scorpion had plenty of time to recover, there was a battle between Taven and Daegon that gave him that time, not to mention getting information from Blaze. And unlike the other characters in Shao Kahn's fortress, Scorpion does have the ability to teleport.

Okay, yeah, teleporting is a pretty cool feature.

Yes he can. He even has two friggin' moves that involve teleporting! And he was in Edenia during Konquest..I dont buy the Scorpion couldnt have recovered, Scorpion had plenty of time to recover, there was a battle between Taven and Daegon that gave him that time, not to mention getting information from Blaze. I'm pretty sure Noob is in the intro. I think I saw him during the Baraka V Kung Lao fight. Fighting Ashrah.

No, it would make the intro partially canon, kind of like with endings such as Frost's MKDA ending.

The ending itself overall is non-canon. But the part where Frost betrays Sub-Zero is frozen by her own powers is canon. It's nothing new in MK games for some endings to be partially canon.

I enjoyed MK intro a lot actually (unfortunately, it's perhaps the only part of MKA I like)...
Someone above wrote the intro is just partially canon. I'm afraid it's true that Shang Tsung will be killed by Liu Kang then

Yes, so, it's not canon.
