OFFICIAL Dragon King sketch..

Alright we know that MK6 news is few and far between. So CAMK and I have decided to share something with you that we have had for quite some time. Please note that the Dragon King (if included) in MK6 may not look like he does in the sketch because the pic was sent during or right after MKDA was releases. We do know however, that the pic is official because it was sent to the MKI staff from a member of the MK Dev. team.

We both (camk and I) hope you like the sketch.

(Edit: I contacted Ed Boon, and while he was impressed with the image, he confirmed it was not a sketch of the Dragon King. In fact, the way he answered makes it doubtful it was even a sketch from the team. Cham and CAMK did believe it was from them, however. nice sketch..i'll wait on official confirmation

but it really is a nice sketch looks like the dragon king in raiden's ending so at least it makes sense

I like it!

but he looks different from the render of Dragon King in Raiden's ending in MKDA. In this sketch, I would want his head to look like a dragon's head kinda.. but anyway it looks kool. thanks for the pic guys.

I was curious about this pic myself, because it did look like the same style as released sketches from MKDA, so I decided to ask Ed if it was the Dragon King. His reply was that as cool as it looked, it's not their Dragon King. So, if it IS from MK6 (and he didn't confirm or deny either way, so even that is debatable), it's someone completely different.

THAT looks exactly like the "main evil" bad guy from a cartoon called Monster Ranger. I think that pic is fake. It looks 100% alike the bad guy from that cartoon.

let me guess - he can't be thrown, played as, finished with a death move or have more than about 5 moves? Bitter i know, sorry, cheers for the picture though, he looks cool enough, don't really think he suits the devolution of reptile too well. Stu

Yeah, I think that was the name. I still think that pic is fake. Why would Boon do it JUST like the bad guy from this cartoon??? The pic dosent even fit for Reptile or to look like a Dragon king.

I repeat, that pic is fake. Its from a cartoon called Monster Rancher.

I agree, the pic looks awesome, but as DAB has confirmed it is not from MK6. I can confirm that it's not from Monster Rancher either, it's from a game that came out a few years ago, which happens to be my favourite game. It's called Blade: The Edge of Darkness (Spain and South America), Severance: Blade of Darkness (the rest of Europe) and Blade of Darkness (US). grin

This specific image is from the credits of the game, and what you see is concept art of a Chaos Knight.

I don't really like it. I would expect more from the MK team. The hidden details are a good addition but I don't even really like those. It just looks like a lot of light cross-hatching to me. I guess, majorly, I don't like the design. MK should have much more detail, story and spirit. From this picture you can tell nothing about the character. Of each MK character, with the exception of Meat, there is something intriguing about their grab or stance that makes you want to learn more. In this picture, I get no such feeling.

Instead, it feels generic; kind of like a "been there, done that" sort of situation. MK 6 needs something knew. This is way too predictable, even if it isn't common for the actual MK genre. We should have somthing a bit more powerful.

Sorry if I burst any bubbles, but this is how I feel.

Dont worry, I feel the same way. I hate it, when U hear the name "Dragon King", U imagine something that will leave you totally impressed, something so big and powerful that reflects power and evil, with lots of details and more stuff. But don’t worry, that wont be him.
