nice one dude, but I hope that when you pick jade, she isn't in the cell, it would be stupid to see two jades, I know the whole cyrax desert thing in mk3, but that was past.

I think that aside from her, the others that are in the jail, won't be unlockable, they're just there to fill in. But I hope that boon and co give us the reason why they're there.

Nice thread now we can see all the pictures at once. My question is are those chaaracters in there at random or do they all have a link?? I personally think they were put in there at random I don't think they have a purpose really.

well i have gone over everypicture i got and the characters are alwyas in the same spot! so i would have to say no there is no random characters switching. its the same characters in the same spots>

i think jade and fujin and kitana will be unlockable from this level! if anyone has pics that i dont have please feel free to post them or direct me to where i can get them and ill post them!

o one more thing please lets try and make this the only prison discussion thread so we dont clog up the discussion boards with a million different threads about the same thing!

Good thread, as the Dark Prison is becoming one of my fav stages. I'm almost positive that since Jade can be unlocked, everyone else we've seen will be unlockable as well. And once they've been released the door of the cell should remain open.

Scorpionvsermac the reason u only see 2 prisoners is b/c the angle is off just enough so u cant see jade!

I think you'll be able to unlock all the fighters from the prison stage as playable characters. Did you notice that since the first prison stage pic was released that Jade's model has since been updated? The boots are definitely different now. I think Boon will be upgrading the appearance of each character in the prison one by one and that we'll see their progress in future screenshots.
Also, we know that Jade is definitely playable, but she probably hasnt been unlocked yet in the above screenshot, which is why she's still in her cell.

The most shocking surprise characters were definitely Hsu Hao and Stryker.

Hsu Hao because we all thought he was dead, and Stryker because....he is stryker!

I'm not sure on what to think yet. Maybe all the characters will be unlockable or maybe they won't.

Maybe Jade isn't even in a cell anymore. She could have been taken out since then and maybe replaced. I'm thinking they were going to put her in but then decided to make her a playable character.

Who knows.

The concern of the detail being apparently not a priority for Midway, I shall not be surprised that Jade is at the same moment playable and locked... :/

im not 100% sure but the most logical characters to be unlockable to me are jade, kitana, and fujin.
-first jade because we have already seen her in action!
-then kitana since jade and sindel have come to rescue her! im assuming if you beat the game with sindel and jade on hard mode or something like that you will unlock kitana!
-fujin because out of the rest he seems to have more potential then the rest.

i think i know why jarek might be in prison. maybe the DK put him there so the red dragon members could kill him! i think the red dragon allied themseleves with the DK!

I think the reason all these fighters are in the cells will be explained in the fmv intro. We allredy know that the Dragon King has captured Kintina. So he probually went around and imprisoned anyone that stood in his way. They'll porbually unlockable. Didn't Boon say that there will be hidden characters that aren't part of the 24 roster and don't have endings? It would be cool if you could find keys in konquest mode to the cells.

Now not all will be unlockable that would be stupid because then we would lose the cool hazard effect of the prisoners grabbing you don;t you think that would be stupid a few need to stay.

yes it would definitely b cool if u could find keys in konquest to unlock jade, kitana n fujin. It would be cool if after u got a key you would have to beat the game with a certain character on a certain difficulty to unlock the prisoner. But only them, the rest need to stay in their damn cells. Maybe after u unlock the above 3 they could have other characters replace them in the cell. Like, umm sonya, nitara, rain, cyrax, quan chi. Whaddya think?

If Fujin is playable come October I will be jumping up and down!
