Did anyone see the big similarity between Tekken's True Ogre and MK's Onaga? I personnaly think that Onaga is not very original as far as being an MK Boss...even Moloch which was a sub-boss was a better idea than Onaga...and he doesnt really fit in the whole MK feel i think...anyways thats my opinion...whats yours?

Now that you mention it, he does resemble True Ogre a LITTLE. And I agree with you, he has no real MKness in him. Hopefully he'll turn out to be a one-game boss, cuz to me, he looks like shit, like some evil little monster from a fairy tale for little kids or something. Moloch was shitty as well but he had an MK feel to him, that dark mood of it, I dunno how to explain it.

............True............... Ogre!
There you go, said it for you!
But really? You think it looks like true ogre? Did'nt true ogre have like three heads or something or a snake for an arm? Honestly just because he's kinda big and has wings, don't think it makes him a copy of True OGre, i could name older monsters with more similarities from half a dozen things that they could've drawn inspiration from though i reckon! Point is, does it matter?

God, every time a new MK comes out I see these, "Doesn't have an MK feel" threads about characters, and I can't help but roll my eyes.
Wheter you like them, or hate them doesn't matter, everyone will always have some characters they like and hate. I like Nitara, lots of people hate her. I hate Darrius, lots of people like him. I like Sheeva, lots of people hate her. I hate Kenshi, lots of people like him. (Though I will admit, on that last one, he's grown on me more in Deception)
Frankly, yes, all these characters -do- have an MK feel, because they're IN AN MK GAME. They are the MK feel. You can debate wheter or not another game like Tekken or Street Fighter feels or doesn't feel like MK, but you can't debate whether or not a game feels like what it is. That's like looking up a word with multiple definitions, reading it, and saying, "Meaning number 2 doesn't sound enough like meaning number 1. I think it would go better with this word."
Each MK is what it is. End of story. And when the next game comes out, everyone will say, "This new boss doesn't feel right. We need Onaga or Shao Kahn back" thus accepting Onaga's "feel."
Final strokes may be much different then preliminary strokes, but they are all still a part of the same painting. When it's finished, (which some say a painting never truely is) the painting's mood will be achieved, and only then can it be fairly compaired to another painting.
And PS. Other then big and intimidating, I don't see how the hell Onaga looks like True Ogre. Last i checked Onaga didn't have a hairy beastly head and a snake for a hand, on top of which I could have swore Onaga was a good 4 heads taller then your average player, wheras Ogre, though bigger and bulkier, is pretty much the same height.

didnt say he was identical...he looks kind of like him esthetically wise....and no true ogre doesnt have 3 heads...he's not eyedol for KI (who only had 2 heads but anywho) ...but uhm yeah i just thought he was a little unoriginal... and about the MK feel thing i just meant that I felt like he didnt really "fit in" in the whole assemble of MK characters but I wasnt trashing Onaga...cause i think he is okay...as far as the story goes (the one being in the reptile body type thing) and he is not that bad looking artistically speaking.....he's just a little off thats all
