Up until now I have not thought custom characters was a good idea. But I was thinking with online play it would be fun to create profiles with basic character models, outfits, and customized fighting styles/weapons. It would not be too much to add to the game you could have real basic character models representing both genders, different races, hair styles/colors, etc. You then choose from moves. Maybe wining (or doing well in) tournys could let you upgrade your players speed, strength, etc.

I agree with you in that it would really be cool if you could do that on the online portion of the game. As time progresses downloading different skins, costumes, and etc. could be possible.

Hmmm. So what gives you the right to personally attack me for stating my opinion? All I said was I don't like online play for consoles. Thats my view so no need to personally attack me for that.
And I have played socom and it was fine for the first few hours/games, then I got bored and sold it.

I belive OutworldDemon is flaming and by the sacred constertution should be banned. I think that online play is a good thing or a bad thing whatever way you look at it and people should respect other peoples opinians and belifes.

I agree, it would take away all the originality from the characters that we play as. I woulden't have create a character, but customize a character. Like you could customize any of the characters of the Mortal Kombat 6 rostor to your tastes and add in or take out moves. There should be a level system for the characters in Online mode, like the highest you could go is level 20 which will let you be able to max out your customized character.

That would work to. I myself am not sold on the idea but it sounds kind of cool.

that is a good idea, and i always thought create a character was great, and sometimes funny (once, my brother bought some wrestling game, had urkel in a bra and thong, quite powerful dude actually) and with your idea b-a-v it is a very good idea.

Yeah, but you woulden't see urkel kickin scorpion's ass and ripping his heart out now will you? lol that would be funny to see though.

Well here I go...
Cube: Where's the online support here?
XBox: Great online system, but it tends to get the shaft.
PS2: I don't know why people program the online stuff for this, but a lot of ports get PS2 online and others don't.
If Midway is gonna do an online thing for all 3 consoles, expect to pay $$. Thanks Cube.
Seriously, do you see them actually taking the time to program the online parts indiv for each console? If they do, all I know is Cube owners are gonna have to pay $$. I'm not flaming, but if anyone can find an online game (US) for the cube that doesn't charge for online play, then I'll turn into a ham sandwhich.
Create a character, I'd like simple customizations for each character so it doesn't subtract from the games originaliy. Now for the hidden character. I'd want his skin to change completely. So one month it could be Noob Saibot (just an example) then one month it could be Urkel.
I don't mind guilds, factions and stuff like that. Heck even the idea of placing your own advertisement could be nice (not spam, but just a line of text or something like Red Dragons: Yeah no joke about the movie).

What draws me to Mortal Kombat more than other fighting game is its unique characters and interesting storyline. Characters created by players just would not fit. But what if Midway created another online game in the Mortal Kombat universe? Naaaa....A MMORPG for Mortal Kombat

I never thought of the lack of online play gamecube. Maybe it (online play) will be exclusive to Xbox and PS2. But please for the luv of Rayden/Raiden, put MK6 on the PC and let consoles and PCs play each other! Wireless broadband + laptop = me kicking all your asses from anywhere I go! j/k

i love the idea of creating your own character i could create a badass character

it would be awsome

I like the idea of both create a character and upgrading the players on the game. Upgrades of the costumes and player stats would be great.
Although how about using the online stuff to add more Fatalties, secrets, costumes etc to the game?

Yeah I hope so, instead of having a game like gold, just download some extras. That would be cool. Stages too, don't forget about stages.
