Greetings,
So, now that we know there will be online scoreboards, I wonder how it will be composed.
I hope they will not compute one's score simply by winning average (if you would only play once and win, your average is 100%!). So I think there should be some kind of points system, divided by the number of people you've fought (also, winning against a higher ranked person should earn you more on victory and lose less on defeat).
I also hope that they won't let this feature become worthless by giving players the option to cancel a losing fight and not letting affect their score by that...
The reason why I'd like this feature to work is that because in the past, there has been too much shit here over "who is best" but seldomly people could prove their claims. So now would be the chance ;).
Thoughts?

I think he means MAT2, not MK:Deception. There's been no word on online scoreboards for the latter.

Averages are just fine. As long as they do it like SSX3. (Number of games won/Number of games played - Average percentage).
This way, the number of matches will be shown, so if someone only played once and has 100%, that individual is obviously a lucky newbie.
And a Rank system to accompany the scoreboard will be helpful. Winning a match by doing certain things well would give rank points. Less and less will be awarded if the player fights the same opponent over and over. By changing who you fight everytime you play, and by doing things well, you'll gain a certain amount of rank points and"Level Up", and your rank will increase (Ex: From Mortal to Warrior, etc.)

The Number of Wins by matches fought seems to be the best choice for me, and if they care enough to fight the same person over and over for first place, let them have it. I could really care less from a competion stand point.

I disagree: suppose that a player who is averagely skilled only fights the same n00b over and over again, what does that prove? Oppose this to the same averagely skilled player who keeps running into players who are much better? What would that score tell? Absolutely nothing.
Also, I definitely hope that it won't be possible to weasel out of matches you're losing without it affecting your score.

sounds like a good idea but i dont like the whole thing when u beat a higher rank you get more points. That reminds me of along time ago i used to go to this pokemon thing where u would get badges and if u beat sum1 with a lot of badges the more points u would get, so me and my friends would just say we beat each other so we could get to the top fast. So i think that would start with mortal kombat. I hope they do it like Warcraft, u get a level based on how many wins and losses u have.

it also says that there is going to be downloadable content, but Ed Boon said so himself that they aren't going to do that this time. So the authentisim of that guide isn't that great.
