The under-rated characters are coming back. Ermac, Noob Saibot, Kabal, Smoke, Nightwolf and Tanya.

Scorpion wasn't that great in previous MK games and it was about time they finally made him the threat he should have always been. But Scorpion succeeded in his mission of vengeance in MK1 when he killed his murderer: Sub-Zero. He came back in MK2 because "Sub-Zero" seemingly returned, But he found out that it was a different Sub-Zero and went back to Hell. Scorpion then returned in UMK3 not because of revenge, But rather Shao Kahn's failure to steal the souls from Hell gave Scorpion the doorway he needed to escape. In MK4, Scorpion found out that the Lin Kuei killed the rest of his family and clan and sought out Sub-Zero to be the first Lin Kuei warrior to feel his rage. Sub-Zero, Like his older brother, Was no match for Scorpion and was about to be killed... When Quan Chi revealed himself to be the true killer and tried to send Scorpion to the deepest pits of Hell. But Scorpion brought Quan Chi with him where Scorpion delivered never ending torture upon the sorcerer until the events leading to MK:DA, And Scorpion has every intention of hounding and mutilating Quan Chi until the end of existence.

So i say Scorpion deserves his rep.

Dammit,I wanna see Noob Saibot's fatality's.I'm sure they'll be awesome.I'm glad to see all of these classic characters getting another chance

Tanya has to be the most underrated character in the cast. Just the fact that she was a MK4 character makes ppl hate her. I hope she gets the chance she deserves in MKD.

Thank you. I'm tired of people saying Scorpion constantly fails in his mission when, as you explained, he doesn't.
As far as playablity, I don't see Scorpion as overrated. I always enjoyed playing as him and I've always been good with him. You say he isn't "Top Tier" but I personally don't care. Techinally, Nightwolf and Sonya are "Top Tier." That doesn't mean I have to like playing as them.

I agree Tanya is underrated. She was pretty decent in MK4 and has good story potential. She just needs to get out of the "Kitana rip-off" label that holding her back. Hopefully in MK:D she'll have her own original appearence.

Scorpion is such a waste now. They should take him out of another game and gice his spot to a decent character.

Yes he is cool, yes he is awesome, but yes he is overrated. He has nothing special any other character cant offer.

Sub Zero, Scorpion, are two of the most overrated
ninjas in the series.Always has been.Always will be.As long as they are in the game the other ninjas will always take the back seat to them.

Overrated:
Almost all of the ninjas...Scorpion, Noob, Ermac, etc. I like Scorpion, but story wise he's really not needed. The only exception is Sub-Zero.

Underrated:
Stryker and Fujin...Both of them hold a lot of promise and with some revamping could make a great contribution to MK.

The Most Underrated Female Character is Li Mei.

Agreed! I'm hoping they make her a great character on this game although she is a great character anyway.

I agree that Scorpion is overated! He is pointless to the story and it's the same thing over and over!

Fujin was underated. He was another great MK4 character but no one took any notice.

I hope Ermac's, Noob's, Nightwolfs and Baraka's stories get fleshed out and they get there due's.

as far as anyone touting skills in MKT with Noob Saibot, please stop, that game wasnt even play tested, why do you think Noob Saibot kicks ass, they gave him ridiculous special moves without playtesting him, hes easily the cheasiet character and most difficult player to fight against. In MKT anyone with Noob versus any other character, id put my money on the person playing Noob, doesnt mean your an unbeatable player though by any means and I wouldnt expect Noob Saibot to have any of those moves that he had in MKT.

Overrated:

Scorpion and all ninjas.

Scorpion should kill himslef and forget the dumb repetitive boring and stupid story. If Boon wants to please fans, and not only that, but actually be just and fair with everyone, scorpion should rest a game.

No need for him when there are characters with much more potential such as Fujin and Reiko.

Overrated- Most of the ninjas. Especially Scorpion, who really needs to do something different. Kenshi too, 'cause I'm crap with him.

Underrated- Li Mei, easy to play as, she just needs a better story. Although they're not in MKD, I'd also say Stryker, Mavado and Kai are very underrated characters.

Why is everyone ripping on Scorpion?! Scorpion and Sub-Zero pretty much carried the MK series, Just like Ryu and Ken did for the Street Fighter series. Scorpion's character is just as important as any other character.

Ok, I'll agree with you on Saibot. That's true. Hell, I mentioned that in another topic. But give some good reasons for the others. "Kitana is so overrated it's not even funny." Ok. Why?

But Scorpion is slightly overrated too. All he does is go for revenge, in a nutshell (where did that other topic go?). He needs more storyline, just like Cage and Saibot.

Li Mei is probably the most underrated character in MK:DA. People saw sai and never gave her a chance.

of course, that wasn't even cool givin Li Mei the sai... what they were thinkin i don't know...they actually thought that giving a noob character the sai wasn't going to piss ppl off?! all im sayin is that now that Li Mei is confirmed in MKD.... She better have a different move set and weapon(s) all together or their goin to totally destroy Mileena's fun factor and Unique character....IMO of course.

The most overrated characters are deffinately Scorpion and Sub Zero, I've seen people say that the series would not survive without them, but I just do not think that is true. Sonya is perhaps over-used, but not overrated in my opinion...she is a solid character who has been tampered with many time (given new moves, had her old ones removed, given new looks, etc) and has sat out on a couple of occasions. The same is true with Kitana. I think Kitana is one of the series strongest characters along with Mileena, and hasn't been affraid to miss a couple of games. When she is brought back into the fray, they should give her a new look, (as they have with the great new image Mileena has) and I think this alone will give Kitana longevity.
Underrated characters seem to be the returners in deception: Mileena, Tanya, NightWolf... It will be geat to see them all return!

Wow when I read the topic I was expecting to be the only one to post that Scorpion is one of the most overrated characters, glad to see that most of ya'll agree so now I dont really have worries of being ripped apart. I also think Kitana and Kenshi are overrated. I believe the most underrated characters are Tanya and Reiko.
