Yea, parrying requires at least a bit of skill and timing instead of just holding block and forward.

parry and tekken style reverses, with chicken! it'd be great if the parries were more like the sf3 ones, instead of the block+forward. and only getting three per match. those sf3 parries took skill. took me years to successfully parry supers completely.
