This has to be one of the most interesting subjects surrounding the game. Obviously Scorpion and Sub-Zero have taken a much bigger role as franchise icons, particularly post-MKDA with the aborted pseudo phasing out of Liu Kang.

If he was to get in, it'd be interesting to see whether or not this is a zombie/spirit situation, or if the inconsequential nature of a crossover will be license to distance references to specific times.

There's obviously been a greater emphasis put on the in-game story modes, but as far as the bigger picture of writing in MK, this could be a big contributor to the make or break factor. I think they're going to have to be pretty stern about taking not taking any shortcuts, or giving into the temptation of just using it as a disposable slate.

Even if it isn't to make a lasting mark on the series, some sense of consistency or place is sure to earn goodwill from some fans.

You don't need a petition to get Liu in MK/DC.

It's a VS game and will obviously utilize MK's franchise players. MK1's magnificent seven, a healthy dose of MK2 peeps, and a smattering of MK3-Deception.

Liu Kang is MK's number three man. He's in.

This says it all. Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe: World's Collide is going to feature the most iconic characters from each franchise. I am willing to bet on the inclusion of Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Liu Kang, and probably even Goro and Kitana. The original seven have great shots, as do more interesting characters from later games. Like Kenshi and maybe Havik.

I'm thinking there will be 16 initially playable characters, with seven from MK, seven from DC and maybe two new characters (yes, I think MK will introduce at least a few new characters in this installment). I can't see them stopping there, though, and probably including another four hidden characters from each side, at least.

Just the awareness that shits like Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Kano, Jax, etc. are coming back yet again sinking in. Figures...for once I really don't want Kitana to be in a game...and she most likely will.

Well.. I hate to be a negative nancy... BUT.. it seems to me that Boon doesnt really take into account what the fans want... NO ONE wanted or asked for this game.. there for it wouldnt be in everyones best interest who likes Liu Kang NOT to petition for him to be in the game.. why petition something this small...i say petition for a remake of this game with gore,fatalities and mk only characters. maybe even add kreate a kharacter. hell,i wouldnt even mind if it was the same game...just have them make a rated m edition. honestly,i dont think that would be asking for 2 much.
