Part of me wishes that that was an option to turn this off like in tekken. I found it made the gameplay much more fun in tekken when I did do this because no longer could I or my opponent be cheaply drained of their energy by nonstop offense. It would be a little unrealistic in MK though because a weapon is obviously going to hurt like hell even if u block it... but this is MK so....
What do you guys think? should this be an option?

I deffiently believe blocking damange she be an on/off option. I think it would be a good option for hardcore mk fans and newcomers.

It's fine, if it's an "option." It should not, however, be defualt. Blocking damage is the only way to effeciently deal with turtles besides weak mix ups. It promotes a preasure game. Thus faster and more entertaining. With out block MK would be even more of a turtle fest.

ya i know what ur saying.... but the best way to deal with turtles is an actual reversal system that works, but thats another topic for another time.... We have been down that road before. Until they do have a true breaker and reversal system like Tekken then I want it to be an option.

No it should not.Blocking damage is another part of Mk that needs to go away.Defense is part of and good strategy.the only time I would say Blocking damage was needed was when a fighter is blocking a weapon barehanded.

ya its good strategy but some people will just sit there and block all day long... I guess I forgot though that throws can't be blocked anymore right? so that at least can prevent some turtle from just sitting there and holding down block, waiting to retaliate after a blown combo or slow recovering hit...

I agree that blocking is part of the MK Deal. its always been there (at least since MK2 cant mind about MK1). Although I tyr not to use the block button, it can help, and makes the battle more exciting and nailbiting.
