I was at http://www.mortalkombatguides.com/ and saw this:
For the PS2
Go to:
Game Options: Gameplay
then hold down
L1+L2+R1+R2+select+ Square
for 12 seconds
then at the bottom right corner of the screen
the number will appear.
For the Xbox
Go to:
Game Options: Gameplay
then hold down
L1+R1+White+Black+X+Select
for 12 seconds
then at the bottom right corner of the screen
the number will appear.
looks like it might be the ersion #

Just tried this...
0.118e - PAL PS2
So it appears us Europeans do indeed have a newer build of the game!
Peace!

This has actually been known for quite a while. I also tried the code in MKDA, but it didn't work. So obviously, if there was such a code in DA, it's not the same combination to trigger it.

I actually didnt find out about this until recently. Apparently theres a version code number in MKDA as well, but no one knows how to activate it.

so what are the advantages of knowing this? or is just pointless trivia? (i'm not bitching, just wondering if it is actually worth knowing)

nope... no biggie really. Just tells us which versions are "updated". Looks like the euro versions may have fewer glitches, or something. I'm not exactly sure.
