I think this MK game is a really good game, I mean, everyone was bitching about it, but now, a lot of people changed their mind, but anyway, I'm waiting for tomorrow when I'll have the game, so I'll post my review tomorrow =)

Currently I'm walking the line of cautious optimism.

I don't have a number rating to give but I can safely say that this game is superior to the last gen outings by a wide margin.

The fact that Superman's infinite is all that has been found so far makes me optimistically hopeful that this will be all the "idiocy" we find and can be easily isolated and patched. With the last couple of games people were finding at least 5 or 6 infinites within hours of release so we've already seen improvement.

I've been cautious, though. I'm trying different things, experimenting and so far nothing has screamed "this game sucks balls," but I still have that fear (instilled in me after years of let downs) that one day I'll come on here and see a list of 100 things that shouldn't be in the game but are.

I'm certainly disappointed that they didn't go further with particular mechanics (Klose Kombat should have been an actual custom throw system ala Tobal and Tobal 2 rather than a guess the button minigame) but outside of the random "simple" stuff I haven't been turned off by it as a whole.

With any luck the game will prove itself to be solid. And with a little more luck it will turn out to not have been an accident and can be refined and built upon in later games without having to worry about them fucking it up and moving backwards.

So, Predator... this game is exactly like you predicted? Funny how that happens to protect you from ever admitting any error...

Clearly the most negative review I have ever heard, professional or otherwise.

i hate the online part of this game.

The lobby system isn't all that great and I really wonder why they just didn't use the lobby system from UMK3 on xbla.Even though the game is lacking modes compared to previous other MK games,its still a lot of fun and if you can let that go you might actually enjoy this game.I'm not going to go into detail about what you already know and heard from everyone else but if i had to rate this game I would sure give it a 6.5 out of 10.If they would have done something like DOA4 did with its online system this would be so much better online for me anyway and some of the cheesy so called fatalites really ruin it cause they feel more like something you would do during the match and not a finishing move after the other person gets defeated.

I dunno, I like smashing my opponent between two massive hammers after an intense match. :)

I like it, probably will buy it in a year when it becomes cheap.

The graphics aren't that bad, could be better though since it's PS3 and X-Box 360 but they're still good.

My only complaints really is the AI at times. I'll be going along in Arcade then get to someone who literally won't even let me get off the ground. I was Scorpion and cam to Sonya holy crap she kept doing this combo over and over, she'd punch me twice then give me a rising bicycle kick then a downward bicycle kick. when I got on the ground she'd hit me up in the air somehow before I could even get up and did the exact same combo again.

The online isn't bad, no lag at all however, I can see why you don't play fighting games online, I played one guy and the fight was pretty balanced. Another guy though just used super moves I know I should be skilled enough to block them and I was but he used the time and super moves ONLY. It got pretty lame, I still almost beat him but meh haha.

all in all i am happy with the game! there can be some improvements but thats what MK9 will be for!!!!!!!!

Think it's a pretty fun game.

A little dissapointed that the character I bought the game for, Catwoman, seems really bad compared to the rest of the cast. Eh, I suppose there's another time and place for that though.

The best beat em up for ps3!

Actually, I think they are all pretty good. I haven't invested alot of time into Catwoman, but my wife loves playing with her over any other character, including all the other women. We were practicing the pro move where you can use the whip in the air after the scratch move.
