I'd like to see it. But I think it's best that the MK Team concentrate on continuing the series. This option should be looked at if MK ever finishes!

If fans clamor for it, it'll happen and it doesn't have to be made by the same team that makes The Mortal Kombat games. For example, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, and Resident Evil Outbreak weren't made by the same teams or the creator, that made parts 1, 2, 3 and 4. Midway has other teams working in their videogames divisions. If the main MK Team wants to focus on further sequel games, then they would surely use a different team to do a prequel, with the main team just concocting the story. Results can be surprising with a different person's point of view of the series, so I wouldn't mind this if it ever came to fruition. Imagine, being able to be play as goro, shang tsung, and with the old kung lao as a boss, with perhaps other familar faces, a lin kuei member maybe? Quan chi would definitely be around at this time somewhere, as would reptile. Other kombatants that have been secret characters, or haven't been around too much such as Noob Saibot, Ermac or Rain could play big roles, since most people don't want them around for future sequels, it'd best be to learn more about them in the past. It's a great idea, Ed Boon take note!

I think this should be done also after when MK is no more. Or it could also be done as a different game. Like they did with mythologies. I personally wouldnt know which characters would be in it.

I'd definetely like to see this happen. Have it set about 500 or so years ago in feudal China. There could be Shang Tsung, Raiden, Goro, Kung Lao (original), Dragon King (?), etc. It could be very interesting.

They don't have to save this for when MK is done, cause quite frankly, it'll never be done. It's a videogame and a popular one at that, not a movie series. Prequels have been done before, Resident Evil 0 as well as the remake, so that they can setup for new events that will happen in the next sequel, it's a perfect idea. Example: Maybe there was some fighter in the past tournament who has a grudge or something and then that grudge would hold the story for the new MK, weather he's a boss in the new one or not. Hell, subzero can even exist, not the younger brother, or the older one, but the father or possibly grandfather. Weren't they a family who passed down their teachings of mastering the element of cold to their offspring? Maybe even a member of Scorpion's clan could be in it. Possibilities are limitless, was kahn a figher before? if he was why did he quit and then enlist shang tsung to help? Baraka could even have been around at this time as well as kitana and mileena. The only ones who couldn't would be Lui Kang, Johnny Cage, Kano, Sonya, Jax, Kung Lao II.

The idea of prequal Mortal Kombat games is not new. They tried it once by creating a Mythologies series but only the Sub-Zero one ended up being created.

However, it would be great if Midway dusted off the old idea and created a Mythologies like games for each of the original characters, especially Raiden. Just don't do another Special Forces, that didn't even seem to be a MK game and it totally sucked.
