problems with getting online

when i try to go online with my saved network settings that used to work in SOCOM 1&2 online(they no longer do.......odd) it does not work. i use Comcast cable internet in the massachusetts(i don't know if the location makes much of a difference here so please don't get mad at me for that!). i can(obviously) access the internet fine on my computer and the PS2 used to work online. for some reason, it doesn't. anyone have any thoughts?

If you're not using a router, and you're hooking the cable modem directly into the PS2, make sure you unplug the modem power and re-plug it in after you hook it up to the PS2. It resets the modem.
Each time you connect it to a different device, always reset it so it detects the new device. when you hook it back up to the PC, do the same thing.
(All under the assumption you connect this way and haven't tried these steps yet).
Otherwise, I'm not sure what it might be.

i have not yet tried that. thanks for the info. i'll try it right now. comcast recently updated so that you cannot connect to the internet with the same IP address twice. basically, you need a router. if you try with a HUB, it does not work; DO NOT BOTHER ARGUING WITH ME ABOUT THIS!!!!! i have already tried it many times and it WILL.........NOT.............WORK...........WITH A HUB!!! ok, i said my peace about the hub thing.
