Problems with the website
Every time I load a page, weather it be the forums, or a reply page, or whatever, it takes forever to load.
Does this happen to everyone or is there some setting I may have on or something?
I'm on a T1 connection.

I've had bunches of probs with this site -- the same slowdown loading pages you guys noticed on both my work DSL connection and my home three-meg cable connection, as well as some posts at the bottom of the page not formatted correctly, and the site crashes my Mozilla browser on my Mac at work at times, but the internet explorer browser on the same computer won't load the site at all.
I half wish they'd go back to the last version of the site, I had way fewer problems.

I have noticed when you post messages, or reply to others, sometimes your text doesn't stay in paragraph form. Sometimes it is all on the left hand side of the forum, and skinny, and it makes your thread way too long.

yes this site easily has the worst bandwidth and loading problems I have ever seen. The person who put this site together should be shot!
I am including geocities sites in that to.....

Yeah, I'm having problems with it... a page can sort of load, but you can't do anything with it. You have to wait several seconds for it to kinda mini reload and set in before you can scroll or reply or anything. Very annoying. Very, very annoying. Also I have the problem where some posts end up a thin column on the left side of the window, and I get a "server busy" page 25% of the time.

I tried the site on a mac today and it loaded fine!
As far as i can see the loading time is actually fine! The problem is with a few .png images at the top of every page! The logo and some other bits! They take a while to go transparent and the ONLY reason i can think of for this is because the site is using "layers" Which is a booboo if i'm right! One of the handiest things to know about website is to never use frames or layers, they're just so inclined to screw up on different platforms/browsers!

I didn't consider the slowness of the site to be much of a problem at first, I was patient. My main problem was that due to the scripting, certain links (like profile settings eg) cannot be made to open in a seperate window. This is a problem, because I can usually 'solve' the slowness problem down by opening multiple threads in different IE windows, so I can read one while another 3 or 4 are loading.
When you use the front page to link around (like sometimes your forced to), you have to load the page (takes a while), load the linked page (takes a while), reload the original page (yep, takes a while), before you can the next link.
I would prefer to be able to load up the front page ONCE, then get each page I want to go to loading up in seperate sessions, so while the first page still takes a while to appear, the others are loading while you're reading PLUS you don't have to keep reloading the front page.
As a result of all the 'bouncing around' you're forced to do on this site, I generally only ever use the forums nowadays and hope the latest news topics are discussed there.
Peace!

The thing is i'm not sure WHY they used layers in most places!I can't see anything hat couldn't have been done by using simple tables and some intelligent image slicing!

It works fine for me but then again, I'm using Mozilla Firefox and as someone (I think CCShadow) explained, the code for the new site is basically specialized for Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox, and all the other browsers thus IE runs it incredibly slow.
