This is something I would like to see more of from our magically-inclined characters.
This would make gameplay that much more challenging, and make you use the projectiles more strategically.
Nightwolf should definitely have his, and from the screenshots it looks like he might, but I would also like to see some of the other characters have them.
For example, it would be great to see Sub-Zero catch a fireball, channel the energy and then send it flying back at the opponent as a more powerful ice attack.
Also, I don't think every character should have them. Just a select few. These could also be used to help balance out weaker characters. But just for fairness' sake they should also be fairly difficult to perform, (i.e. not Back, Back, Attack Button) so as to keep them from being overused.

Great idea darthtsung,I'm very appreciative of your effort.

No, not Budokai style. darthtsung's idea has the projectile launched back at the opponent that released it.
I am for this idea, I think of it the same way as you do.

no, its not needed, and it wouldnt be fair i think that with the posibility of running or faster movement is enought to make people think twice before attacking with a fireball, anyway in mk throwing fireballs if you do not when has always bring bad results.

No, to me you just should be able to block a projectile or just side step it.
Yeah, I understand that, but you know how on budokai, if you block at the precise moment you bounce the projectile back to the opponent that shot it at you, that's what I got out of his original post.

I understand what you mean by budokai style...
and my response to that is yes and no.
Yes something like bouncing it back-with cool/badass animations, but no not everyone could do one, only certain characters, and the animation for each would be different.
Thanks everybody, even the no's, for responding.

No, it completely eliminates the point of using a projectile in the first place.Shooting a fireball isnt very rewarding since your opponent could throw it right back.Budokai is the only game that does it is because that is a somewhat important element in the Dragonball Z series. Otherwise, seeing it in an MK game would ruin the fighting experience

MK vs DC... there's something I never saw coming!

Some kombatants should have it. I like the idea of Kenshi and Ermac.

I say no to this idea. "Projectile Reversals" are exactly what made Nightwolf and Motaro "cheap" in MK3! There were already enough ways to avoid projectiles in MK1 and MK2, whether by "trading", ducking, or teleporting away from them. Sidestepping came into play in MK4, probably because of high demand for such a feature in fighting games at the time (at least I would think so), and proved to be an effective way to evade projectiles, and the same holds true for MKDA.
