We've done this over on Xbox before, but I don't know if it's been done on PS2. I haven't seen it, at least. I'm curious what some of the connections look like around here. I'd also like some discussion and input on the numbers as well. I'm not positive what the numbers mean, but I believe that the Upload Speed plays the bigger role when two players are fighting online. I could be wrong; that's partly why I'm posting this.

Anyway, I got my numbers from SpeakEasy.net. I think that's a legit testing site, right? If not let me know. I'm currently at school in Lubbock, TX. I just downgraded my internet a week and a half ago cuz it's $30 cheaper. Here's what I came up with...

Dallas
Download Speed: 9119 kbps (1139.8KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 836 kbps (104.5KB/sec transfer rate)

Chicago
Download Speed: 9202 kbps (1150.3KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 833 kbps (104.1KB/sec transfer rate)

Los Angeles
Download Speed: 8974 kbps (1121.8KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 829 kbps (103.6KB/sec transfer rate)

Seattle
Download Speed: 7595 kbps (949.4KB/sec transfer rate) <== WTF?
Upload Speed: 829 kbps (103.6KB/sec transfer rate)

New York City
Download Speed: 8942 kbps (1117.8KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 833 kbps (104.1KB/sec transfer rate)

Atlanta
Download Speed: 8914 kbps (1114.3KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 835 kbps (104.4KB/sec transfer rate)

Hope to get some good input from you guys. This is interesting to me.

He does have a good connection.....almost lag free with me. He has a cool fighting style, nice and aggressive.

Ok, I didn't realize there was another thread where many of you posted your speeds. I took a look at it, and this is basically what I saw as far as connections...

-Red, Laser = Great

-Funkopath = Very Good

-Wiido, Nest = Pretty Good

-(Dan is in between Funko and Wiido depending on the server)

-Everybody else seems to be at half or much less of my upload.

Maybe this can be more of a discussion thread for this. I have several questions about this stuff. Who knows for sure about the following?...

1. Am I right about the Upload being the important factor as far as MK goes?

2. (Bone's question) How exactly do you read those numbers? Do you pay more attention to the first number or the number in parenthesis?

3. When do Funko, Nest, Wiido, and Dan usually get on? Haha. THAT'S what I want to play.

Yes, this is why pretty much everyone I fight has lag advantage on me. You would think it would be the other way around but it isn't. All the people with the slow connections are 100% safe against me. Me and DAN, WIIDO, NEST, CHAOSTHEORY, KARATE, and a few others I have a good connection with, with everyone else my free grabs turn into 50/50's, which how I pretty much use them all the time now. Not only is everyone safe, but I am unsafe...go figure ,right. The people who design the server need to figure out how to equal everyone's connections and get rid of all the lag.

Anyway's...I'm not complaining. I have learned over time to just deal with it and try to get around it. I still have a blast every time I fight... win or lose I just want to have fun.....grin

You would think that would be the way it worked but me and bd sting lived less then 10 miles from each other and he still got unreal safe lag vs me.
