Hello,

I think that Boon&co.; made a bad decision including puzzle and chess kombat.. They look like fun games but I think they should (have) put every time they have into the main thing that MK is: a cool fighting game.. I personally think that I would be better I they decided to put more energy into the online gaming (from the interview I got that they wouldn't have tournaments, ladders, etc..) and perhaps add even more stage interactivity, super moves (a la street figther) ... those kind of things..

Do you agree with me that instead of diversifying, they should stay focussed on only the fighting?? I like to hear your opinions..

A huge mk-fan,
Alan

OMFG shadowman you are a GENIUS! I would buy it alone for KART KOMBAT. LOL just imagening them trying to fit their huge bodies in little karts.
Ohh and uh yeah chess kombat and puzzle kombat are brilliant new ideas that bring great replay value.
Alan, your room is rockin so fuckin hard right now

Well, it all really comes down to re-play value. The Chess/Puzzle modes were added in because the past MKs were a bit narrow with different modes. I guess Boon figured that different gameplay additions would not only provide a more broader and enjoyable experience, but also keep the main gameplay modes fresh, since the fighting mode would no longer be the player's only gameplay option.

But I can tell that MK chess is not for everybody. A lot of people are not going to be willing to learn the mechanics behind it, and that may very well be it's downfall. But since it incorporates fighting matches, it will probably stand as good a chance as the puzzle fighter.

I think the puzzle mode will be pretty sucessful, mostly because it has too big advantages: Simplistic and familiar. I never played the street fighter version, but I've battled out enough tetris to know I'll most likely love it.

But what it really comes down to is the player. I'll be looking forward to them at least.

I would agree if it was October and thats all they were working on, but it isnt October and thats not all they are working on, and both games look like fun.

Puzzle&chess Kombat are fine. But, I would have tossed "Konquest mode" in favor of a few other online enabled mini games. A Mario Party like board game, and yes, Kombat Kart. smile

DAMN Kombat Kart Fucking right that would be the Shit it would make mario kart look like nothing even tho I loved that game. Back to the main pt I think Chess will be sucessful a lot of ppl like it wonder if it's online. Also you got to think they're just starting online play out it will be better in MK7 also heard theres team Komabt in 7 but thats beside the Point.
