This could be a long shot but Quan Chi had come into play during Mortal Kombat 4. Therefore Quan Chi might be what we might not all expect him to be.

In our eyes we see Quan Chi as a power hungry sorceror who will betray all who stands in his way. But from watching that trailer of Mortal Kombat Deception I think Quan Chi is someone else.

In the trailer it mentioned that the Dragon King lurked in the shadows and would use an old ally by "Deception".

Quan Chi has been decieving many characters in the past Mortal Kombats. In Mortal Kombat 4 he decieved Shinnok by killing him and taking the real amulet. In Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance he made an alliance with Shang Tsung to revive the Dragon King's army.

If you think of it, Quan Chi had taken the amulet, and allied himself with Shang Tsung to restore the Dragon King's army. What if he was in fact this ally mentioned in the trailer? And through all the Mortal Kombats Quan Chi snuck around to clear a path for the Dragon King to reclaim his throne?

If you had watched the trailer, you would have notices Scorpion in the ending performing a stage fatality on Baraka. If Scorpion is back then Quan Chi must be back and is up to some cause in "Deception".

i'm pretty sure he have something to do with the hung body on the boat stage in MK6.

He probably ask his soldiers to hung all the slaves of Shang Tsung on his boat, that would be cool

I like Quan Chi. He has been one of my favorites since he debuted in Mortal Kombat 4, well Mythologies if you want to count that, but I think it is safe to say that most of you won't.

If you notice that the announcer's voice in the trailer is none other than Quan Chi. I really think that he is a signature character of the MK series now and we will be seeing much much more of Quan Chi. Lets just hope that he doesn't remember how to do that awful neck stretch fatality from MKDA.

When I was thinking about the term deception, I was thinking a good guy going bad, but it doesn't appear to be that way now. I was hoping SubZero would go sour and turn on Earth. Oh well I am still majorly pumped for this game.

Hopefully Quan Chi gets killed off by Shang, clearing the path for Shao Kahn to come back.

I wish Shang betrayed Quan Chi. I mean come on, Shang has dreams of controlling all realms, and then he betrays Shao Kahn and joins Quan Chi. What logic is there to keeping him as an ally? I have a feeling one won't make it, but I really hope that's Quan.

Scorpion returning only means that Scorpion hasn't had his revenge. If Quan was killed (or removed) by someone else, I would think Scorpion would hold it against them. Quan/Scorpion isn't really going anyway, so having him swap to someone else (Drahmin, or one of the Earth fighters even) would make his purpose more interesting.

Quan Chi has been my favorite MK character since I first played him (along with Reptile). Quan quickly became a KEY character in the MK series and I think he has A LOT more potential than Shang. I do think that Shang has died and he won't be returning to MK6 and if he did, he's gonna wish he was dead cuz everyone is out to kill him.
