Question about the Kodex
I just bought the Brady Games Guide today to finally take a look at the Kodex everyone has been trying to crack. I found the thread over at the I.G.N. Board that everyone here has been using as reference:
"Now...here's how it works.
CODE 1
Square, Raiden, Right, Scorpion, Triangle, Noob, Left, Dairou, X, K, Up, =K, O, Darrius, Down, Noob, R2
now using the kodex, you substitute the correct letter or number where you see a MK Character or Koin color. So according to the code above we now have
SQUARE, S (since Raiden = S), RIGHT, T, TRIANGLE, R, LEFT, Y, X, K, UP, =K, CIRCLE, E, DOWN, R, R2
Now it looks like this may be some type of command that you must input from a PS2 controller. If you take the PS2 buttons and line them upp, you get
SQUARE, RIGHT, TRIANGE, LEFT, X, UP, CIRCLE, DOWN, R2
And for anybody that's got the BRADYGAMES guide, they know that this shows up on every other page in the book!
Whats left over are letters which spell
STRYKER and there is also a left over symbol =K
So the answer to CODE 1 is
Square Right Triangle Left X Up O Down R2
(PS2 Code in Brady Games Guide)
STRYKER
(Flying past the clouds on the select screen in Mortal Kombat Deception. Also in OrderRealm)"
My first question is has it been revealed just where this code is coming from? It was mentioned that someone named MasterBlade from the Gamespot forum is the one providing the clues but he's not revealing his sources (in fact he has almost disappeared).
This is the part I don't get:
"CODE 1
Square, Raiden, Right, Scorpion, Triangle, Noob, Left, Dairou, X, K, Up, =K, O, Darrius, Down, Noob, R2"
Where did they get this form? Is there a point of reference we can at least try to figure out where they are pulling this information? It seems kind of random with no proof of its origin in the Brady Guide or the game itself.

The kodex is truely a piece of utter jibberish in my opinion, it has done nothing but waste time. The key to decoding the kodex seems to just be compleatly imagened up in the head of a sadist.

Does the guide at least have some cool character art?

The brady guide does say in the near future that clues would come out on their web site. I went there once, and couldn't find anything. I spent the money on their guide hoping real clues would flow. They better start giving us something soon!!!
