I posted these on a totally unrelated thread, but they were quickly swallowed up. I decided to create a thread for it. Here are my questions:
1. Anyone know if the menues rap? I hate that.
2. How does klose kombat and freefall kombat work? If you perform it on me, do I need to look at button inputs on the screen, or is it luck? I'm a bit worried about this one
for obvious reasons :P
3. How about the rest of the modes like rage and the test your might mini-game? is it the same procedure?
4. Is the fighting found in story mode the same as regular arcade? I sure hope so. Konquest modes on deception and armageddon were impossible for us to
play.
Hope you guys can answer these questions. thanks, and see you guys online next week!
dude.. yeah, you have to see the screen.

I don't really see how you play at all without vision

well,

1. nope, not sure
2. you DO need to see the screen. Sorry, dude sad
3. test your might is a button mash. Rage just makes it so that hits don't affect you. also breakers are... well... breakers.
4. I think so, yea
ok he's not blind. How do I know? this thread is prime example. A blind man comes to a forum you have to read for answers to a game he can't see to play? huh?
perhaps he has someone that can read it to him
then whats the point of asking? so does that mean someone plays the game for him too?

you underestimate blind people. Losing one sense makes all other sense stronger.
right, right, right your sense of smell will help you play a video game. I think you need sight to play...thats why is called a VIDEO game!

A tad condescending. He could use sound (and even feel, with the rumble). He'd have to take hits, but he could win if he was really good.
Im not bashin ppl with disabilities because I have friends and families with them and they dont ask questions about things they can't enjoy such as music or tv. To me it doesnt add up, how is a rumble feature or vibration or such help play a video game?

On question 2, he doesn't need to look at the screen actually. It's more of a guessing mini-game than anything. I think it will not be a problem to him. He just needs to be lucky. wink

Yeah, you don't actually NEED to see the buttons on the screen to win in Klose Kombat and Freefall. They're just displayed to be helpful. It's just a guessing game. If you're the one doing it, each button is an attack. If you're trying to escape, you have to hit the same one your opponent does. During freefall, there is a meter that your hits build up before you can do a super move, and I don't think the meter makes any noises or anything when you reach the mark, but it looks to me like any three hits is all it takes to reach the mark.

1. From what we've seen, no.
2. Klose kombat is activated by a throw, both players then press a button, if each opponents press the same button, the defender counters, same goes for freefall kombat
3.Rage is activated by button presses, if you've ever played Dragonball Z games a good analogy is going Super Saiyan, Test your might is random button mashing as fast as you can
4. In story mode it transitions from cutscenes to fights. So yes, it plays like regular arcade mdoe.

Would it be inappropriate to ask if you liked Kenshi?
It sounds like a stupid question, but I'm actually interested.

I'd first like to thank everyone who responded to this thread. Thunder_god raiden, there was no need to be so rude man. Obviously you're not blind, so you have no idea if blind people can play video games or not. Also if you had done a little research, you would know exactly how we use computers. We use software called screen readers. There are a few popular ones like Jaws for Windows and window eyes that'll read text with a synthesized voice. as for how I play games, RazorsEdge701 seems to have a pretty good idea. We use sounds. We can also use the vibration feature on the controller, but that's not always possible. The only mk game I remember having a vibration feature was mk4. If the sounds are good enough though, we don't need the controller to vibrate. Here's a little challenge for you guys. Go into practice mode in one of the mk games, and perform different moves/combos. Pay close attention to the sounds. Try and memorize them, then play the game without looking at the screen. If anyone tries it, let me know how it goes.

yup, fuckin owns his ass

That's a really funny video, but Boon is playing like crap. Either he's taking it easy on that kid, or he doesn't know how to play his own game properly. Anyone with a block button could tear Boon to shreds every time he used spear. A little off-topic, I admit, but it needs to be said.

You really are ignorant.
Have you ever actually spent time with someone who has lost their vision?

To the Author, There is no armageddon/deception like conquest.
Also free fall requires specific inputs as well as klose kombat.

Test your might though is just button mashing.

If you have any other questions feel free to fire them off.
